Eleventy-one Years: Too Short a Time   by Dreamflower 3 Review(s)

Ah, how I remember having to take the second bath after Big Bro when we were kids, before we finally got a larger hot water heater. At least there was no baby to be lost in the silt! Heh!

Love the details of the trip, and the way that Belladonna makes Jack welcome as part of the family.

Author Reply: And of course, it was even more so back when the water had to be heated elsewhere and brought in with pails!

Since this was the family's first "vacation" in a few years, I thought it deserved a few details. And of course, Belladonna would be sure to take good care of young Jackdaw!

Great, a trip to Great Smials! Like shirebound I think that this will do them all good.

Bilbo enjoys the trip very much, it seems as does the Twofoot lad.

Last but not least: There's plenty of FOOD again :-) What a relief, especially for a hobbit.

Author Reply: Yes, he's having a marvelous time! It's been a while since he's been anywhere except Bag End and Hobbiton. And Jack is only a little bit older than he is, so they can enjoy themselves!

The Shire is once again a land of plenty. But those who endured that bad winter will never forget it.

What fun to experience hobbits playing their riddle game. This is such a needed outing for Bilbo, as well as his parents. What a lovely family.

Author Reply: *grin* It seems to me that to be so good at riddles, Bilbo must have played them a lot!

Yes, it was about time the family got out of their hole for a while. The Fell Winter was so hard on them; but they'll have fun at Adalgrim's wedding!
