Eleventy-one Years: Too Short a Time   by Dreamflower 3 Review(s)

Oh dear, that's bad news for Bilbo! But it would have been worse if he had found out that someone else was already courting her.

I liked the walking trip and the song about Rolly and Robin :-)

Author Reply: Well, it might have been worse in some ways, but I think he was a little more prepared for that, and willing to fight for her regard unless he learned that she was truly in love with another.

Thanks! I made that song for "Trotter", but it seemed to fit in here as well.

Oh, dear, it would appear there will be no chance this visit to seek to court the fair Pomona, does it? The trip sounds lovely, though. Wish I could have walked alongside him!

Author Reply: I like to think that his fondness for walking under the stars was a youthful inclination.

Very unlikely that he will have a chance to court her. She's going to be an apprentice for a several years, and as you know in my Shire, the healers only rarely get married (though it becomes more common in the Fourth Age), and usually when they do, it is often much later than most hobbits.

I'm always so happy when a hungry hobbit sits down to a delicious meal. :)

Poor Bilbo, he won't get to see Pomona after all.

Author Reply: Yes, poor Bilbo. Of course, we know from canon he remains a bachelor, so his dreams remain just dreams...
