I'm definitely favouriting this

My mother used graph paper. She always had things figured out ahead of time. (We moved a lot.)

Luckily my father left the furniture-arranging to her. Unfortunately, the time they moved after he retired, he thought he should help. It was years before all the pictures were up on the walls.

This story was a great deal of fun, though if it was up to me, I'd probably have committed violence ... no, I'd have Gone Mad before it came to that. Your Pip is amazing. (And a few other words, too.)

I hope we will be seeing more stories from you.

Some sort of Ooops:

“Did your Eglantine really tell you this story?" -- I'm not quite sure what the problem is, but it is. Your Aunt Eglantine? Your mother Esmeralda?

And lest you feel too bad about that ... it was a good while there before I could remember Merry's mother's name....

Author Reply: Sorry for the unfortunate typo re Merry's mother's name. I have corrected it. I do know that Eglantine is Pippin's mother and Esmeralda is Merry's mother. I just typed in the wrong one in my rush to complete this. Also, as you probably noticed, the sentence did not read correctly even had I used the proper name. I was, as Treebeard might say, too hasty in posting.

I think I need to take a break from writing and your review has helped me see that. It was a careless mistake and I am surprised that other people didn't mention it. Thank you for your honesty. Enjoy your holiday season, and again, I apologize.

“There you go again, using my proper name as if I were some stranger with whom you felt the need to be formal,” Pippin sighed.

“You are a bit strange,” Merry smiled.

ROTFL! Great dialogue and great story! And I've learned an additional meaning of Bench Mark ;-)

Author Reply: I am very pleased that you enjoyed this and thank you for reviewing it. And wow! It was educational too? That doesn't happen that often. : )

bench marks! Haw!

(“Only the Tooks,” Frodo muttered, shaking his head.)

You have done your usual marvellous wild-and-woolly conversation that doesn't make sense and then, somehow, it does. You haven't lost your touch!

Thanks for the smile.

Author Reply: Thank you so much and I really appreciate the review. I don't write much anymore and so, when I do, it's lovely to hear from old friends. Hope you and your family are well. Take care!

Very cute story! Let's hope the landlord doesn't find out about that extra big bench mark.....;)

Author Reply: Thank you for reviewing. Yeah, if the Land Lord found out, that would be bad. : )

I must admit that sometimes Tookish reasoning tends to boggle the mind!

Author Reply: It does unless you are another Took.

O.M.G.! And all this could have been avoided if Pippen had just said "I am marking where the furniture goes!".

Still it makes sense, in a way, saves heaving the furniture around when you move in and can't make up your mind where to put things. You would have to decide where to put things though, so you know where to paint the floor and if you did 'discuss thhings' at least you could do it in the comfort of your old home before you move in to the new one!

Thanks for the chuckle,
Lynda

Author Reply: With Pippin, there are no direct answers. LOL
