In the High King's Secret Service  by Fiondil 11 Review(s)
LarnerReviewed Chapter: 30 on 10/20/2013
Whatever game Feanaro set into motion is up, or so it would seem, what with Ulmo, the High King, Olwe, and Indis all insisting on a FULL inquiry. I strongly suspect that Finwe's son and heir will soon be backpedaling mightily. And has Feanaro been threatening the lady who has caught Intarion's attention, then? Not a good idea at all, and the Valar are not likely to allow the threats to stand! Heh!

Author Reply: Hi Larner. Yes, the game is up as we will see in the next chapter. Finwë will be doing a lot of the backpedaling, though. We'll see what threats Fëanáro made against Intarion, as well. Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's appreciated.

Hurrah, for Olwe and Ingwe showing up. Now Finwe really needs to get a defense for himself *grin*. I have a feeling I know what Feanaro did to coerce Intarion to confessing. Let's see if my guess is right. But Ingoldo and Tinwetariel seem to be the kind of parents you are better without. They just leave Intarion hanging.

Author Reply: Hi obsidianj. Well, you'll find out if your guess is right in the next chapter. And Ingoldo and Tinwetariel are real pieces of work, aren't they? Well, we know what happens to them eventually, so I guess it's okay. *grin* Thanks for leaving a review. It's much appreciated.

Busted! And not a little bit either but big time. Whoo HOO can not wait to see what happens next, but wait I shall, until 2 AM on Monday. Then I will start checking and double checking. LOL

Author Reply: You bet, Laer. We'll see how everyone fares in the next chapter. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.

I'll just read this chapter again. This was brilliant. Yay for Olwë and Ingwë! Finwë's reluctance to inform the other kings made me want to tear my hair out...or his and Fëanaro's!

I have read and enjoyed every chapter. I just don't trust my English well enough to comment regularly.

Author Reply: Hi Siiw. I'm glad you found the chapter brilliant. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know. Thanks for reading.

Talk about a miscarriage of justice. It's amazing how truly vicious some people can be. Indis bringing Ingwë to the trial will throw a monkey wrench in Feanaro's plans. Good for her. I hope a certain Elf gets his comeuppance.

Author Reply: Hi Tari. It would be a miscarriage of justice but I think Ingwë will set things straight. We'll see how things go with Val in the next chapter. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Rereading on my lunch break, and I need to be more careful reviewing, I thought I saw Findis when you wrote Indis. Ahaha. Sorry! Even if Findis didn't have anything to do with fetching Ingwë, I'm sure she would have if she could have. XD

Author Reply: Okay, that makes more sense. Thanks for clearing it up. And I'm sure Findis would've fetched Ingwë if she could have, too. It's just the sort of thing she would do.

Hm, it's good to have friends in high places!

Things are starting to get interesting, very interesting.

I bet Indis has Valandur's evidence, or if not knows where Findis has put it.

Intarion is so young, still a baby in fact, by Elvan eyes.

One more slapping point for Feanor, his list keeps growing and growing!

Huggs,
Lynda

p.s. I do like Herencano.

Author Reply: Hi Lynda. It certainly is, though I don't think Val appreciates it just yet, but he will. We'll see how things go for him and others in the next chapter and find out just who has Val's evidence.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. It's much appreciated. Hugs.

If I remember correctly, I believe the literary terminology for what just happened in this chapter is called "when it hits the fan." Mwahaha! I love it.

I cheered so much when Olwë showed up! He's such a sweetie. I think if Ingwë's the brain and Finwë's the courage, Olwë's the heart. (I guess that makes Arafinwë the lost little girl with the ruby slippers .)

"he is no more treasonous than your son here" Unintentionally ironic choice of words there, dear Olwë.

Go, Findis! I knew that chica would be bolting off at the first opportunity to help Valandur. I have no doubt she would have dragged Ingwë to Tirion if necessary, haha.

"Surely you know how to read a person’s fëa, Cousin." I snorted out loud at this bit (I didn't realize the Elves could do that at this point). Now Finwë's actions make even less sense.

Oh Intarion, dude. Somebody got to someone you care about, didn't they? I bet I can guess who it was. That is a bloody nightmare.

So we finally have all three kings in the same room, and all it took to get them together was...well actually quite a lot. Now to see what happens. Eagerly awaiting it!

Thanks for the great chapter, and wishing you a perfect fall weekend!
-Kevana

Author Reply: Hi Kevana. Shades of Wizard of Oz! LOL!

Anyway, Olwë is no one's fool and Ingwë just rocks. Finwë has no clue what he's up against and his son is even more in the dark about things. We'll learn what pressure was placed on Intarion to do what he did in the next chapter. He's very young.

I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. Thanks for leaving a review. I appreciate it and have a great fall weekend yourself.

Hehe. Now Fëanáro is in trouble! And Finwë, too. It seems that Finwë trusts his son a bit too much and almost lets him dictate how to rule the realm. Somehow I feel that now that Ingwë is there, Valandur is safe from further plots.

Why didn't Findis just give the documents to someone else, like Herencáno? There was no sense in taking them with her and away from the trial - unless she gave them to Indis, who gave them to Ingwë...

Author Reply: Hi someone. Yeah, they'r both in deep doo-doo with Ingwë. We'll see what happened to the documents in the next chapter and who has them. Thanks for reading.

Guess we will have to wait as well. Maybe Fearno has an explanation, but Finwe has none except, "but my son said." Love, love Olwe and Ingwe showing up. I figured the Valar would have to get involved, but am happy they will let the kings sort it out. Great chapter. Thank you very much

Author Reply: Hi UTfrog. Well, you won't have to wait long, I promise. We'll learn what is what with everyone in the next chapter and how this particular crisis is resolved (or not). Glad you enjoyed the chapter. Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it.
