Coalesced Diffusion  by Thundera Tiger 4 Review(s)

Once again these are absolutely marvelous, and give great insight into the mind of Sam Gamgee.

Number 13 made me smile, because it made me think of my own personal conceit: that Gandalf only made fireworks for hobbits (or for others only if hobbits were present).

Sam is certainly a hobbit's hobbit. I think my favorites are Ridge, Myth and Courage, and of course, as usual, the last prompt is full of poignancy. Good job, Thundera! And now there's only Gimli left.

Wonderful, just wonderful. Dear Sam!

My favorites here are Courier, Myth, Basin, Courage, and Toy.

Author Reply: "Courier" is probably my favorite just because suspicious!Sam is so much fun to write! That and I'm not convinced Sam always trusted Gandalf. I mean, I'm sure Sam trusted the wizard to have good intentions and good advice, but I think he was always a little wary of him, too. Which is why "Myth" is also one of my favorites because it let me play with just how Sam perceived Gandalf and the rest of the Fellowship. Anyway, I'm thrilled you enjoyed those two. Thank you so much for the review!

Oh, how well I can agree about anyone who chooses Butterbur as a courier may also be misled in choosing Strider as a guide and companion! Heh! The one about courage truly rings home, but it's the last one that makes me want to weep. Well done!

(And how did those pans get across the chasms of Moria if Sam had to take them off to jump over them himself? Did Strider and Boromir toss them across or something? Smiling!)

Author Reply: In my personal Moria head!fanon, the Fellowship would send about half their members over first (without baggage) and then toss the baggage to them before the rest followed. They probably didn't do it every time, but for anything over five feet, I suspect they took precautions. The books mention one chasm exceeding seven feet in width, and I would definitely want to lose a heavy pack if I had to jump that.

Anyway, thank you so much for the review and I'm glad you liked the last one. It was the hardest to write because Sam is just so...Sam. He changes, but he stays close to who he was to begin with. Thank you again!
