The Time of Probing  by Larner 4 Review(s)
AndreaReviewed Chapter: 14 on 8/28/2013
“He’s a Baggins,” Bilbo stated, as if that were all the explanation required. “He’s a most persistent and proper Baggins, and fully aware of his responsibilities.”

Great statement! But good old Sam proved to be even more persistent than a certain (older) Baggins, at least until he was led out of Frodo's room - for the second time.

Author Reply: I so agree, Andrea! Dear Bilbo, and dearer Sam! He will do his best to see his Master looked after, even when he'd do best to look after himself! Thanks so!

Loved seeing Aragorn and Arwen in this chapter. sam's room was just perfect for him with the image of Yavanna.

Author Reply: I loved being able to look at how those two acted "in company," and how honorable the two of them proved. And I loved imagining the perfect headboard for the bed granted to Samwise! Again thanks so, Linda!

Bless the stubborn love of hobbits!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Indeed, Antane! If it hadn't been for the stubborn love, loyalty, and honor shown by Frodo's friends so much evil would not have been averted as it was! Thank you so.

I just love phrases like "the collection of drowsing Hobbits" and "a deep, comfortable sleep gathered him into its arms." What a comforting chapter, in which you weave so much of the canon we know, and the small details we crave. :)

Author Reply: Thank you so, Shirebound. But as you know, I love to find the context in which to set the details we do know!
