I don’t know if you’ll see this, but I wanted to let you know I love this story. I come back to re-read it every so often when the mood strikes. I hope circumstances in your life let you finish this someday, but even if not, I still enjoy this story, even unfinished.

This chapter was so wonderful! I especially loved the quiet conversation at the end between Manwe and Pippin. I can remember lying in bed with my sisters when I was little, or across the room from my roommate (who is still my best friend) in college, and talking long into the night. They are good memories that that make me smile, and your descriptions here did too. Such a simple, everyday scene...it complemented their discussion of Olorin's simple, everyday song very nicely. :-)

I've reached the end of what there is! I can't even tell you how much I have loved this story -- it definitely ranks as a favorite. Thanks so much for the time and effort you have put into it, and for continuing despite everything real life throws at you. I will be looking forward to the next chapter, whenever it may appear. In the meantime...take care of yourself, and Merry (upcoming) Christmas! 😊

So glad to see you posting again! It has been a time since this was updated.

How very Pippinish, the Pippin who answered Gandalf's question as to what would please him with the statement he wanted to know everything from under-earth to over-heaven. Heh! And I am glad he is receiving word of Frodo healed. What joy!

How good to see another chapter-I am so pleased that you have felt up to writing it.

"So you came to the Shire, disguised as traveling hobbits. Is that what ordinary siblings of your people do for a lark?"

Oh, what a marvelous and absolutely "Pippin" thing to ask! Thank you for gifting us with this long and satisfying chapter, especially since you've been going through a dark time. There's so much love and wisdom here; I hope you're as delighted at the tale being told through you as we are to read it.

And this...

Pippin's melancholy fled in an instant. "Oh? Is it as bright as the stars, or as beautiful as trees, or as strong as the sea?" He mentioned those things, recalling how the tales of the Valar said that they were among the many things they treasured.
Manwë nodded. "All those things, and more, much more. The One heard Olórin's song and took the heart of it as the inspiration for His design when He created Hobbits."

That makes me so happy. In all the years I've thought, read, written, and wondered about hobbits, that particular idea never once occurred to me. I love it.
