You're killing me here!!! And yet I'm really, really enjoying dying! Who knew?

Author Reply: I am - or was when I was doing this more frequently - the mistress of angst and enjoyed dying myself. And I loved killing my readers. :) :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

His eyes did not see the peaceful stream but one in flood.

I never thought of that. What a courageous act, to cross that stream again! But this time Frodo had his friends around him, and soon he'll be aware of them once again.

There were costs of war that were borne in the body, but more so in the heart and the soul.

*sniff* So true.

Author Reply: One of the symptoms of PTSD is aversion to places, things, people that remind you of the trauma you suffered so that is why Frodo is so reluctant to enter the water. I don't know whether he had flashbacks to that particular time or whether it was all Weathertop that consumed him at this time when the past displaced the reality of the present but he did have to force himself to go in so he must have had some awareness of where he was and that would have effected him adversely. I hadn't thought of it either until this commeration of the day came to me. Thanks for your recap view, my dear, and enduring the angst - but there was love there too and honor.

Namarie, God bless, Antsne :)

I rejoice that he knew easing, and that in the end believe he did find the healing he so needed.

Author Reply: Glad you liked it! I enjoyed writing this as it took directions I wasn't expecting like Gandalf's reflections and Elbereth's aid - my favorite parts. :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
