Leave it to Gollum to ruin a nice stay. Aragorn is so lucky to have arrived at Beorn's place. He finally has a decent outfit. Although, I wouldn't put it past the author to strip him of most of his new possessions on the final days of his trip ~g~

And so he goes off, well prepared and outfitted (bless those Beornings!), but into the great wild unknown, and I can't think he'll have an easy time of it.

The part with Svala was a horror... but so Gollum, when one remembers Tolkien mentioning how he crept into windows looking for cradles... I wasn't expecting that, and it really shakes the reader back into reality (and Aragorn) and makes us realize that Aragorn just can't stay in such warmth and comfort, even if we wish him to.

Enjoyed thoroughly!

Author Reply: It was indeed an ugly reminder of Aragorn's duty, and of the very real danger Gollum poses to this good family. At least he sets off well-prepared...

Thank you again for the wonderful feedback!

Food, clothes, cloak,a hat and mittens - the Beornings were wonderful to Aragorn. He certainly deserved some good luck, but you created a charming and kind family. I am positive he thought of them after he became king. Now we will see what horrors, besides spiders, you have in mind for the final push of his journey. Aragorn certainly feels better prepared with food and some rest.

Sorry for the delayed review. I did read this yesterday, but with the extended family Christmas celebration at my house, I was busy and then exhausted.

I cannot say I will wait patiently for your next chapter, but I am in such awe of what you writers create for us. Thank you is never enough.

Author Reply: Thank you so much! Your reviews are such a lovely treat, but you mustn't feel the need to apologize: it's such a busy season, and I'm honoured that you find the time to read at all.

Horrors? Doesn't sound like me...
