Very good short story of the Old Forest! It is a tantalizing part of Tolkien's realm, one that I dabble in as well.

Thought you might want to know that I did notice a typo:

“Let us get us get away from here,” Halbarad said frantically.

Old Man Willow was vengeful even then, obviously. At least the wind dispersed the mist early enough that Aragorn could foil his plans. And Halbarad now has reason to appreciate that just perhaps the Elves are right!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. Thank Goodness the mist dispersed. Halbarad. Halbarad will believe the Elves in future.

A wonderful story for Halloween! I'm glad it ended happily, and with a feast for our noble Rangers.

FYI, the story description here says 'Faramir' instead of 'Halbarad'.

Author Reply: Thank you so much. I'm pleased you liked this Halloween story. Thank you for spotting the mistake.I'm so used to writing Faramir!

Oohh!! Scary--a tree that tried to kill Halbarad (shades of Old Man Willow)!! Now, all that's needed is to throw in a Barrow-wight for good measure. =)

Where's Tom Bombadil when you need him?

Author Reply: Thank you, I'm pleased you found this scary! We did need Tom Bombadil.
