Return to Rivendell  by Linda Hoyland 5 Review(s)

I love Faramir's sense of wonder, expressed in his enjoyment of a sun-sparkling, dew-glistening spiderweb.

Regarding this:
Then there was that monstrous spider we slew that stung you in Lossarnach.”
Is this in one of your stories, by chance?

Indeed, I could see these two now less active Rangers taking an opportunity to greet the beauty of the early morning. I enjoyed Faramir's comment about how spiders were likely intended to be in our Creator's original Music. The Arda we live in is indeed Marred. Even so, there are the beauties you describe, for sensitive souls like Faramir who will look for them.

Author Reply: Thank you so much. I think we have to seek out beauty in this imperfect world.

I, too, have loved looking at spider webs with the dew caught in them. Truly things of beauty.

So, Faramir is telling Aragorn about the quality of eggs in Imladris, is he? And who's been telling him of such things? Heh!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. The webs are indeed beautiful. A good point about the eggs. I will fix it!

“I did not wish to waste a single moment of my visit here”

Neither would I! This is a very sweet moment between Faramir and Aragorn.

Author Reply: Thank you. I'm pleased you enjoyed this moment for Faramir and Aragorn.

I liked your first assay in this direction and really really like this one. It has a sense of gentleness and thoughtfulness about it that is quite enjoyable. Thanks for your hard work on it.
