An Unexpected Adventure [IN HIATUS]  by KathyG 3 Review(s)

The kids are having a tough time emotionally this chapter. I like their confusion about trees giving off light; that always confuses my parents too when I try to talk Tolkien. The conversation with Gandalf was very interesting. I like it when stories make Middle Earth be in the distant past because it makes me feel almost like it could be real. I suppose if the kids started telling everyone about Jesus and Israel it could mess with the credibility of prophecy.
Thanks,

Yes, exactly. Not to mention that Eru/God wants to reveal things in His own time and according to his plan. Gandalf, being a Maia/Angel, understands instinctively that it's not the right time to reveal much of the future. But he doesn't forbid them completely from speaking of their faith, just not to reveal details that might confuse others.

Author Reply: And I did it again. Sorry, that reply above was from DF.

Author Reply: Yes, the CHILDREN can't begin to comprehend how a tree could possibly give off light!

Suffice it to say they've got their work cut out for them, figuring out what they can say. After all, not even Abraham has been born yet, let alone Jesus! K.G.

Author Reply: Whoops! Didn't mean to type one of the words exclusively in caps. K.G.

*big grin* Indeed, Gandalf's an angel! :) Probably not the way he'd think of himself, but it's true for all that. And what a perfect guardian angel to have for our little friends <3

Now to see what comes next!

("Immortals" is a song from Disney's Big Hero 6, by the way, which fits with other Disney songs being titles! I love Big Hero 6!)

Author Reply: Very good!

Yep, Gandalf's an angel, although he doesn't call himself that.

At least they are getting help as they need it as well as the reassurance that Gandalf is something that they can appreciate.

Author Reply: And thank goodness for that, huh?
