Sorry I haven't been reading as much. Too focused on chapters for "Destiny's Child." Chapter 34 is up! Soon Faramir and Eowyn will together!! And not before time!!! :-))

It's been a stressful couple of weeks. A friend died in a car accident in New Mexico and we have been waiting to see when his "Celebration of Life" celebration would take place. It is this weekend so we are scrambling to get the money together for the trip. The reason I am saying this is in this chapter when the Shirefolk start giving money to Pippin it brought a tear to my eye.

Once again your ability to re-create the Shire in all its intricacies is wonderful!!

Honesty and forthrightness win the day. Because of course. Pippin is many things, causing honest chicanery among them but subterfuge is not his strong suit!

Thank you for this little escape into the Shire! Much needed!

I'm so sorry about your friend. I will be hoping for a safe journey there and back again, as well as comfort and healing and many warm memories at the celebration.

I saw Chapter 34 a couple days ago but kept getting pulled away before I could start reading! Luckily, today is a "down" day, and so I'm catching up on some reading and (hopefully) writing. (I was so swamped over the weekend, I didn't even get my planned Monday posting done.) I'm very much looking forward to Faramir and Éowyn being in the same place at the same time at last!

Thank you for the kind, encouraging words. I'm glad that the chapter provided you a respite. The Shire has been my refuge in stressful times for years now, so I'm happy to share that refuge with you.

Glad to have you along for the story!

You're right, Pippin is in a bit of a pickle. This story will have some angst, but not an overwhelming amount. It's more about determination and resourcefulness than h/c, really.

You might be interested to know (and hopefully not overwhelmed to hear) that the story in its current form has three parts. The first features Pippin and Ferdi, while the second centers around Sam and Goldi. Lastly, the third part has Goldi and Farry and serves to tie all three parts together. Hopefully it'll work as well in final form as the draft seems to promise! As to breaking it into three parts: I had the feeling when I started that people might find it easier to read three ten-chapter stories than a longer story of thirty chapters or more. At least, that was the thought process...

(I suspect I'm rambling. Thanks for listening.)

I stand (or sit, rather :-) ) in awe of the detail by which you write Hobbits. It is truly wonderful! As I have caught up with "Jewels" I shall turn my attention to this! Which story deals with Pippin finally becoming Thain? I would like to read that as well!

Thanks so much. I've been sandbagged by life this past week, rather, but things appear to be improving. Just when I was getting some energy back, a close family member had a health issue that took all my time and energy for the better part of last week. After everything was resolved, I had no energy left, so I've been vegging and alternating between watching BBC detective shows and sleeping over the past few days.

I finally had enough energy this evening to finish the latest chapter in Bill's story, and I'm very glad to see a new chapter of your Éowyn tale. I'm hoping to read it tomorrow. Looking forward to it!

Someone near and dear to me recently introduced me to the Visible device and app, and as a result, I am learning to "pace". Hopefully I'll be able to avoid future crashes with the help of that technological tool. That's the idea, anyhow.

Pippin's return to the Great Smials to become Thain is described in FireStorm, a very early story that, like Jewels, is on my list for editing and adjusting to fit with the later stories on my timeline. Later chapters of Flames (told from Ferdi's point of view) include and expand on that story. StarFire also covers Pippin's first year or two as Thain but starts some weeks after his return to Tookland. So just a heads-up, if you read FireStorm, it's got a few discrepancies compared to later stories at this point in time.

I hope this note finds you well!
