Wow! That lack of ability to move, and the sky becomming nothing but inky blackness sounds like Merry when found on the road in Bree. It also has echoes of the blackness that Faramir, Eowyn and Merry wandered in after the battle on the Pellenor. But now, how long do they lay there in weakness? Who will come rescue them?


Author Reply: Thx! Yes, I can’t imagine the consequences of getting to near a Nazgul would be pleasant. Hopefully it won’t be too long before they’re found — the sooner the better, for sure.

This whole scene is masterfully described. How easy you make it to now understand Aragorn's fierce attack on the Nazgul with the flaming brand when the hobbits were under attack on Weathertop.
