Sisters  by Grey Wonderer 26 Review(s)
Kit5Reviewed Chapter: 2 on 5/11/2004
I like this tender view of Pippin's sisters, told through his eyes- our older siblings do much to shape us as people, and this is a wonderful story.

Author Reply: Thank you for the lovely review. This is one of those stories that just came out on its own without warning. Sometimes I do that. In writing this one, I have found myself wishing that Merry and Frodo had a sister or two. I haven't the nerve to attempt a story about Sam's family. So pleased that you are enjoying this.

Oh, wow, that was so freaky! So many of the things you said about Pervinca are the same with me! (Except for the sewing part - I once tried to make a dress... let's just say the results were less than pretty. Calico does not make for good dress material :P) But the not being able to sing, the throwing tantrums and was incredible. Like reading a little biography, lol

This is a really cute way of setting it out too, having Pippin explain his feelings for his sister. Definitely looking forward to finding out what my little brother *really* thinks of our sisters :P

- Pervinca

Author Reply: I think it's so funny that you have so much in common with my version of Pervinca. You really should learn to sew and complete the likeness. This one was supposed to be a one chapter story and it just seemed to have more to say. I am so glad that you are enjoying it.

How exciting that there will be at least 2 more chapters! :)

This was so cute! I loved hearing all about Vince and Pippins self-deprecating comments were great!

Bravo to you!

Author Reply: I am trying to stop this one at some point. I thought it was over, but it is still coming! Pippin is right. He does have too many sisters and so there will be at least two more chapters of this. Don't want to leave anyone out. Just don't let me start one of these about the Gamgees because I might not live to finish it!
Thanks for reading it and for liking it. Oh, and Bravo to you too! (You inspired that bit about her perfect sense of color and knowing what others should wear.)

What a great short story! I loved how you described each sister! And Pippin wanting the raisins! That was so cute! Great Job (as usual)!

Author Reply: It was very hard to work up any love for those raisins, because, as you know, I don't like raisins. I would have wanted to remove them to save the muffin dough from tasting like icky raisins! LOL I am relieved that the sisters came off well. Thanks for reading this one and leaving me the lovely review. Now, back to the other one! LOL

Oh, so sweet! This is definitely the type of story that can stand by itself, or can have more chapters added to it. Personally, I'd like to see a few more chapters (but that's probably got something to do with my unhealthy obsession with Pippin's family!).

You've managed to give all three Took-lasses perfect personalities, even though they hardly even appeared in the story! Wonderful work :)

- Pervinca (who's very pleased to have just read a story about herself :P)

Author Reply: This is something I have wanted to do for a while. I wanted to write more about Pippin's sisters and his relationship with them, but so far, this little one here is all there is. I have a small idea for another chapter, though. I am glad to have the approval of one of the 'sisters' on this. So glad to hear that Pervinca enjoyed herself in the story. She is the one that I have in mind for the next chapter later on. I only hope she makes a good impression. You write her so well, that I don't know if there is anything to add. I thank you for the review, Miss Took.

Awwwww! This was cute! And oh, yes! Sisters are very tight. When you mentioned the apron and dancing, I couldn't help but to recall Fashion Statements. Or Pervinca and her sisters being stubborn, I remembered Thinking Of You. The water? Messing Around In Boats. I'll be keeping an eye on this story for when you do add to it... Great story!

Author Reply: Thank you! Glad it reminded you of some of the other stories. When I wrote it, I did have "Fashion Statement" in mind slightly. I didn't think about it hitting any of the others but it does I suppose. I didn't see it until I read your review. LOL I think, at some point, there will be more, just no idea when as yet. Have another one that really needs finishing up just at present.
