FireStorm  by Lindelea 16 Review(s)

What a greeting! And for the Prodigal Son who saved the Shire and assisted in saving everyone else as well. Love it.

Author Reply: LOL. Well, perhaps the Tooks haven't heard the story of the Prodigal Son. And they might look at his going to the Outlands as a liability rather than an asset. And it was the *Tooks* that saved the Shire (not just Pippin), those hundred marching to the Battle of Bywater and the others that followed the Thain, hadn't you heard? *g*

Why is no one reviewing this story? It's excellent!

Nice to see a casual, care-free afternoon for the poor Thain and his family.

Author Reply: My thoughts exactly. Not the excellent part, (for I daren't render judgment on my writing--at times I might suffer a swelled head and at others might be tempted to delete the very same story that but days earlier gave me delight) but the "why no reviews?" part.

So glad that you're taking pity on a poor and bereft would-be author. (I would be writing, if the laptop were not so desperately ill.)

Nice to see this story coming along. I was beginning to think you'd forgotten about it.

I sympathize with the poor Stewards. Who wants to do boring Stewardly duties when you can go out and watch things blow up? *g*

Author Reply: Well, I had, while the new stuff was coming along, but needing to stop for some research before proceeding, I thought to update this one.

And now that my writing computer is seriously ill, these (edited, already-posted-at-SoA-but-not-yet-published-chapters) may be the only updates unless I can wrestle the dinosaur into cooperating.

Thanks.

Interesting story about the young gentlehobbit. Was he who I think he was?

Author Reply: I have a feeling that he was, if you're thinking who I'm thinking. And perhaps one of the crowd of the cousins who were looking for him and didn't recognise him was someone else you were thinking of?

Thanks for commenting! Nice to know that even though the story is an oldie, people are still reading.

Good for Eglantine and Regi. Although I don't know if Pippin is really that grateful for their interest - at least not for a good few years.

Good to see more stories coming over from FF. Hope this one won't take forever like "Merlin".

Keep up the lovely writing!

Author Reply: Thanks!

My editor-friend has begged off "Merlin" for the nonce, and "Jewels" for some reason, so I have to decide if I want to just copy those over, unedited, or if I want to wait on her.

She says that looking over "StarFire" has put her in the mood for more early Thain stuff, which is why we're tackling "FireStorm" (and when chapter 12 is posted, we plan to begin posting "Striking Sparks"). Since beggars cannot be choosers, I'll go along with her plan.

I need to copy over "LifeWatch" as well, though it will probably take some time before it is posted. Not sure which other stories remain to be copied to SoA... and no time to check at present. Shouldn't even be online now. It's the story of my life.

Hope to keep up the writing. At least "All that Glisters" is written to the end and only needs to be typed in (though am still debating whether to break out the Bridge stuff into a separate story, or keep it all together). The Muse is vacationing and has left no forwarding address, but I am in hopes she will return soon, tanned and rested and ready to take up the quill once more.

And now I've probably told you much more than you wanted to hear! *g*
