Reunion in Minas Tirith  by Baggins Babe 72 Review(s)

No, dear, you were in the right place at the right time. Gandalf need not blame himself for sending you on that Road, since God had set you upon it and now you and everyone else has been rewarded for all your terrible sacrifices and torments.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Lovely Mr. Baggins, indeed. :) What a joy for him to be with his loved ones and they with him, what a wonderful, wonderful gift - and a gift and joy to us too. Must be nice to be all kissed out and all those bairns curled with you, surrounding you with such love. Nice royal intervention too.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

They do indeed have their miracle - and his name is Sam - and all those who prayed. They are well named those two hobbits. A very dark land to travel in alone, but hopefully now the healing can begin. Frodo doesn't go back on his promises anymore than Sam does.

Whoa! The Ring sanks its barbed talons so deeply into that dear soul and when it was pulled out with such violence, there was nothing left but a bleeding, gaping hole. No wonder all was dark and empty, being so terribly violated, nothing but agony and guilt and shame and despair. The deepest scars are the ones no one can see. It's a wonder he pulled out of this, and a wonder Rose can speak of it so calmly. The agony of that soul and a mind and heart pushed beyond endurance to cut himself like that and try to kill himself because he didn't think he deserved to live. You did not fail, darling! You said "I will take the Ring" and you did. You did not say you would destroy it. Don't blame yourself for what was then impossible for your will - or any will but God's - to accomplish then. I know I would feel the same, but it's not right! Grace saved you then and I think it's the only thing that can save you now.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

I was wondering if you had this story buried somewhere - I was hoping you did from all the hints left in other stories. Indeed, it would have been good if the entire cost of the Quest was one finger, but alas no. Some wounds go so much deeper. But so does love.

Hope you are enjoying the flood of reviews - it's rare I have such luxury of time to just wallow here. :) What a joyous arrival! And cute that the heir to the throne of Gondor have the Ring-bearers as heroes and his meeting with Frodo they are holding hands, eye to eye. I could get down on my knees and do the same and for the same reason...maybe in heaven.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: The reviews have been a wonderful surprise and I thank you for them. I wrote this story ages ago and the rest of the AU universe grew from it. Glad you've finally found it all.

Baggins Babe,

This chapter brought back my feelings when I went to Boston for the LOTR Exhibit! Well done!

Idril

Author Reply: Thank you - I'm delighted that you enjoyed it. I wrote this before I'd seen the LOTR exhibition but I know what you mean. This display must have brought home to the residents of the White City and its visitors just what was achieved.

Oh, wow!!! I love this...and I definitely must read more of your AU! My favourite chapter was the one describing the Yule after Frodo's last illness-how very pleasant and comfortable and fluffy! You portray these characters so well, and I especially like the portrayal of Elanor-such a sweet, winsome child! And your tipsy hobbits reduced me to hysterical giggles! I was very glad of them too, for I'm about to deal with a similar situation in one of my fics, and the only time I was around someone who had quaffed too much drink I got away as fast as I could. I was about seven, and the absurdness of his behaviour frightened me, though he was only a little tipsy. Very well done and I can't wait to read more! God bless,
Galadriel-a now devoted reader

Author Reply: Tipsy hobbits are just too delightful. There's more in 'Pipeweed and Pints' and totally plastered hobbits in 'Convivial Evening' if you're interested. Not to mention more coming along in 'Birthday Surprises.'
Drunk people can be alarming but I think drunk hobbits would just be funny and rather sweet!

Elanor is adorable - all the children are. I'm sure Frodo enjoys being around them.

Somehow I can just see this chapter in my head with all the characters acting the way you have them.
