Thoroughly enjoyed this story. I had read it before years ago and decided to re-read some of my favs. I loved this strong Lothiriel. It was great to see her as a great archer and horsewoman. A great match for Éomer. The scene in the stables had me blushing. And I laughed out loud ate Amrothos helped Éomer rid himself of the other suitors with the dragon tooth tale and how he hoped she got one . Hilarious!! Thank you so much for writing enjoyed it last time and this time as well.

Author Reply: How nice to hear that this story is still being read and enjoyed, though I wrote it so many years ago. But I remember that how they got rid of her seven suitors was one of my favourite parts too.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review!

I first read this story a few years ago, and I remember how I sat in my living room, and finished the entire thing in one afternoon, unable to stop until I had reached the end. I absolutely love this! Charming, well writren, and humorous. I feel as if you have captured each character so perfectly, and created a beautiful love story filled with passion and great laughs. I always come back to it each year and consider it a favorite read!! Truly, I love this and always will.

Author Reply: What a surprise to get a review for this story after all these years! Thanks so much for letting me know that you enjoyed the story. It's a lovely compliment to hear that rereading it gives you joy :-)

Wonderful story, but alas, this chapter was rightous boring. Best greetings to Rosamund Pilcher. Sorry.

(This is really very good story).

Author Reply: Hello Irene,
this is my very first story and I know it could do with a rewrite to tighten the pace and fix a few other things. But I'm afraid my writing time is so limited that I prefer to write new stuff rather than revise the old.

It's good to hear you enjoyed the rest of it though!

I love this story! It's my favorite! Everything about it is just fabulous, and the "manipulation" to get our characters into certain situations is so subtle and has a real feeling of being natural as opposed to contrived - well done!

I've always wanted to see something where the "barbarian king" actually gave into his impulses and was a "barbarian." What if he hadn't been willing to wait and had just carted Lothiriel off? Or even arranged things in such a way as to force Imrahil's hand? Hmmmm

Author Reply: Hello Siorsa,
what a nice surprise to get a review for this story after all this time! I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed it and that you liked the plot twists.

I've never written a story where Eomer carries Lothiriel off - although he's been tempted to a few times. But I don't really see him doing something that could be so potentially damaging to Rohan's relations with Gondor. Although it would most certainly be a fun scenario to write! Hmm, I must think on it some more, maybe a plot bunny will come of this...

Thanks for reviewing!

I guessed the wrong things about the "usual stakes". I thought it was something either naughty or humiliating. Smiled so wide about how the newlyweds escaped from their guests/tormentors.

Author Reply: Actually, the 'usual stakes' come up in another short story - but I think you've read it since. And how nice for Eomer that Lothiriel now wins tankards of ale for him!

Well, once again many thanks for your reviews! It's great to hear that you enjoyed the story so much. Like I said, it was the first one I ever wrote, so it holds a special place in my heart.

And I still owe you a few more replies, but I have to be off to bed now. Long day at work tomorrow!

Like I've said, I enjoy the "traditions" you have thought of for Rohan--I find them so convincing and how much they add to the scenes and the story. The groom's line is so romantic and could sound sexy too (at least to me, especially if it's Eomer who's saying it)

It was clever of you to bring back the Wife slayer joke and the bet between Eomer and Legolas here, brought a lot of punch to the dialogue!

Author Reply: It's true it's a very romantic way to come to ask for the woman you love, isn't it. Who could resist Eomer?

And I have always been very interested in customs and traditions of former times and love to add them as little details. So many of them have an inner truth, like the sharing of food and drink here.

Liked Lothys' "revenge" on Eomer here and glad to have met the "true" ruler of Meduseld.

Author Reply: Oh yes, she got her revenge, didn't she! And the help of the 'true' ruler of Meduseld will come in useful a little bit later.

Thanks for including Amrothos and Elphir in the snowball fight! I liked Eomer's opinion of his womenfolk's "allegiance" and couldn't stop reading from here.

Author Reply: Well, I'm not sure Elphir enjoyed his inclusion - but no doubt everybody else did. And I couldn't resist the picture of Eowyn and Lothiriel ganging up on Eomer.
