So it is that the heirs of the two lands of the South were lost, and the younger, less direct heirs must take their places. And Boromir's death has come on the borders of Gondor, on the banks of Anduin.

Apparently my muse agrees with yours, for in my-verse Hurin also shared the dream, knowing it even before Faramir did for the first time, but not sharing it until he heard that Faramir had had it, too.

Excellent tie-in to your other tale. Poor Boromir, not knowing what his father has seen or why he and Faramir are so fearful for him. But Denethor has not paid enough attention to the fact that the boat was, as he recognized, of Elven make.

And there is reason for Boromir to avoid returning through Rohan.

And the dream is now shared, and Boromir has determined to take the quest for his own. Alas that he will see his brother no more once he has gone north.

I really need to get a copy of "Peoples of Middle Earth."

Interesting that none recognizes the nature of the Black Riders! Terrifying to end up in the river with no idea as to where his brother might be.

At least there was some time for the cousins to meet and enjoy one another's company.

I'm glad they got the condition properly diagnosed and treated so quickly. And Faramir will be very good, serving from Henneth Annun!

Ah--two young women to see married off, then? Ah, dear! Amandil will be most disappointed, I fear.

And I'm glad to see Gandalf there, and Denethor perhaps finally seeing that there is a great difference between the White Wizard and the Grey.

Poor Faramir!

The poor kid! At least Denethor is being merciful toward Hirgon and his mother, in spite of Tarostar. And we know now what became of flighty Miriel. Poor Galador--having her as a child!
