Dreamflower's Mathoms II  by Dreamflower 12 Review(s)

This was something different! I do like your Eucatasrophe series. :-) I like the thought of Frodo being able to live in the Shire in peace. People do tend to forget history if not reminded every now and then, so the presentation was perfect. And it does bring to light the heroic deeds of loved ones, whose actions are only heard in fireside tales. This was wonderful!

Now, back to "work" for me and then to read a couple more updates that I've been waiting for...

Author Reply: I'm fond of it myself. I think if things had gone only a *little* differently, it might have been possible for Frodo to find his healing at home. I do like to think of it.

Oh Dreamflower, this is wonderful!

For the first time, the Ringbearer is here among us on the New Year. For the first time we may honor him, as he deserves to be honored.”

Frodo stood with tears in his eyes, and glanced proudly at the young hobbits standing with him tall and straight. He wished that their fathers could be there to see this.

He looked up, and caught Gandalf’s eye, and was surprised to see tears there as well. He smiled at the wizard through his tears, and noticed the flash of fire on Gandalf’s hand, as Narya paid tribute to the one who had freed it from dominion.

Wow, how great. Yes, this is how it *should* be!

:D

Author Reply: Yes, it *should* have gone that way--yet the fact that it didn't is part of what makes the original so great. I suppose we are not as courageous as JRRT, trying to avoid the hard circumstances by the altering of what happened.

But it's so nice to see Frodo happy!
