So cute... And great explanation of the candy cane's 'origins', very original! :-)

Author Reply: Thank you so much. This one was quite a challenge!

I loved finding this story tonight on my walk down memory lane. Thank you for the smiles and for your wonderful Gandalf! I like the double meaning behind the candy canes. Thank you for reminding me why I enjoy this fandom so much even now.

Author Reply: Oh my goodness, thank *you*. Being reminded that folks continue to read and enjoy my tales brings me such joy.

What a wonderful and sweet story, my dear. I love it sooo much, it made me smile. What a wonderful dinner break I had today!
J is for jolly!
Thank you – I’ll always be shire-bound!
*hugs tightly*

Author Reply: Thank you, dear Julchen! I need to keep giving our hobbits (and their friends) peaceful, happy, loving scenes. And it's such fun when Gandalf learns something new about 'his hobbits'. :D

*hugs you*

Oh, this is so sweet--literally! :) I love the way you used the candy canes; how interesting! And love also that it was from Gandalf's POV.
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: It's very interesting to see through Gandalf's eyes! He's such a softie when it comes to 'his hobbits'. I'm very happy you enjoyed this.

What a perfect holiday tale, Shirebound!

I really liked your creativity as to how the candycanes were originally created by the Elves to honor those who bore the Three. And trust hobbits to discover a new use for them!

~Elemmírë~

Author Reply: Thank you! This candy cane challenge was very 'challenging' indeed. :D

I will never be able to look at a candy cane the same way ever again. What a lovely piece of Yuletide fluff!! The perfect ending to an all too few not so bad days for me these days. (((HUGS))) Thanks Shirebound and Happy Yule to you and yours as well!!

Author Reply: Yay for hobbit fluff, Tigger! Lots and lots of hugs right back, and I hope you have a very Happy Yule.

AntaneReviewed Chapter: 1 on 12/9/2006
What a sweet story, shirebound - no pun intended, though I was nervous about giving wee Pippin all that sugar but now I see it was a moment to teach instead, though I don't think for a minute that somehow that cane is not going to end up in his mouth anyway. :) Love that little mention of Merry. And Estel - cute of think of Aragorn sucking on a candy cane.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: My goodness, the cane *did* end up in Pippin's mouth! What a shock. :O

I'm glad you enjoyed this bit of 'sweetness', Antane. And I do love the image of wee!Estel nibbling away on a candy cane. :D

What a lovely idea - candy canes honouring the Three! A lovely Yule fic, Shirebound, and delightful to see Gandalf among his beloved hobbits.

I feel warm and fuzzy and ready for Christmas now!

Author Reply: I just love it when Gandalf interacts with 'his' hobbits, and maybe even learns something new. (Maybe the hobbits' ability to constantly surprise him is why he enjoys studying "hobbit lore" in the first place.) I'm so happy you enjoyed this warm 'n fuzzy Yule story. :D

ElflingimpReviewed Chapter: 1 on 12/9/2006
Aw! That was so very sweet and now when ever I see a candycane it will remind me of your story!

Author Reply: Awww, thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed this. :D
