Lord Námo's Yule Gift  by Fiondil 14 Review(s)

I like the idea of Merry and Pippin causing havoc in Namo's Halls on their way to wherever the spirits of mortals dwell! And of Boromir and Eomer waiting for Elessar so that they might all move on together. While poor Namo must feel like someone trying to run a boarding school full of remarkably bouncy kids!

A fun story. And very seasonal. So Merry and Pippin want to take Namo under their wing and ensure he isn't lonely at Yule, do they? It seems very much in character!

Author Reply: Yes, those loveable hobbits, for all their silliness at times, are very warm and compassionate creatures and the thought of anyone, even a Vala, being alone at Yule would have broken their hearts. However naive they may be, their hearts are always in the right places. A lesson we can all learn, I think, especially during this time of year.

"Lord of Mandos Boarding School for Bouncy Children of Ilúvatar". Poor Vala probably wishes he had Manwë's job instead! Happy Yule, however you choose to celebrate it.

Oh, a simply wonderful story and a wonderful gift for us! I loved that little, tiny taste Merry and Pippin got of the love of the 'presence' that was simply marvelous. It was a perfect follow-up to your 'Drawing Straight' story and I echo the other reviewers call for a sequel showing Aragorn, Arwen and maybe even Faramir's arrival in the Halls. You write such an interesting character so very well. Thanks for sharing.

Author Reply: Thank you for reviewing. I had not thought of a sequel per se, but you never know. I might surprise you. And I am gratified that you find my characters (especially Námo) so interesting. Glad you enjoyed my gift.

Joy to you, also, our friend, for this hilarious and beautiful story. And so Turgon shall not spend Yule alone.

Love the love offered to all of them. Thank you all!

Author Reply: You're welcome. Even if he is unaware of it, Turgon is surrounded by Love and is never alone. A lesson we should all take to heart, I think.

That was really very enjoyable I especally liked it when the wreaths and garland fell on Namos head the visual was hysterical,it would be nice if you would write another story or and extention of this one when Strider and Arwen would arrive!

Author Reply: Yes, the garland and wreath falling on Namo is one of my favorite parts of the story too. We think of the Valar as being solemn without realizing that true solemnity has an element of play involved.

As for a sequel... well, as Manwë says, that's as Eru decrees....
