Might Have Beens  by Larner 147 Review(s)

Somehow I almost like the idea of poor Lobelia being unjustly accused. Almost...

Author Reply: Almost, eh? Heh! But if we were to turn fanon on its head, why not see Lobelia and Primula both in a different light, right?

Thanks so!

Hm, not too sure I like this version of Primula, she sounds almost as bad as Lobelia really was!

Lynda

Author Reply: I agree, Lynda. But the challenge was to reexamine our own perceptions of the story and its characters, and so this idea presented itself. Thanks so!

My Goodness! What a turn up for the books!

Author Reply: Isn't it, though? Heh! But it was fun to write, even if I can't quite bring myself to add this to my own head-canon.

Oh, my. You leave me speechless. Yikes.

Author Reply: Well, we were to re-examine our own head-canon as well as general fanon, so this was the idea that presented itself. It was fun to write.

I was just looking for things to read, noticed this, and click in this chapter first. Oh. My. Gosh! This is the funniest thing I have ever read. Dear Frodo, bless his heart, even wishing for joy for the bitterest enemies of ME. And this is how Namo interprets that wish! That is absolutely the most hilarious poetic justice ever. I loved this!

Author Reply: I had a good deal of fun writing this one. Armariel's request for how the baddies might get together for the holidays got my evil imagination working! Heh! So glad you enjoyed it, and thanks so for the feedback.

Heaven forbid. The thought alone gives me the chills. So glad it never really happened.

Author Reply: Oh, but I so agree, Tari. Sorry to be so late responding--somehow I missed this one.

Yayay!!! Another clever little piece that we're all thankful didn't really happen. But who knows...it could have. Yes, preciousss, it could have! Gollum! Gollum!

Author Reply: Oh, indeed, Armariel. Oh, yes, it COULD have happened....

Thanks so!

No-one can beat Sam Gamgee. *nodnod* Although it's interesting to see Gollam as a somewhat benevolent tyrant of Middle-earth. Funny that he wouldn't want world domination, but he'd try to live Frodo's life.

Okay, funny perhaps isn't the right word, but still...

Author Reply: I don't think that Gollum has world domination in his heart any more than is true of any other Hobbit. But to seek to take Master's place and remake the Shire in keeping with his tastes and imagination--It makes me shudder just thinking about it! Thanks so, Soledad!

This was both thought provoking and fun!

Author Reply: Armariel handed me quite the challenge to write to, and this was what came out! It was nice to find myself doing a humorous AU! Thanks so!

This was truly chilling and gripping to read.Such a clever idea!

Author Reply: Thank you, Linda. I am merely glad that it chose to present itself as a vignette--I don't know if I could have stood the shuddering while I wrote something longer or in more detail.
