Silent Knight  by shirebound 23 Review(s)

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!

I have always imagined it would be difficult for Aragorn when he came to manhood in Imladris. Even mortal fathers have difficulty accepting that their little one is all grown up. It must have been even more difficult for the elves, for whom even a 70 year old would be as a child.

Aragorn cannot have helped feeling like a babe in arms.

Author Reply: It might have been as healing for Aragorn to share this memory with Pippin, as it was for Pippin to hear it. :)

I love these relationships between the Fellowship members and how these 9 people thrown together seemingly by chance find out how much they share, despite their disparate backgrounds.

I can see young Estel as being very like Pippin in some ways. Those two moppets!

Author Reply: Thank you so much, Amy. Estel the moppet! What a fun thing to imagine. :)

Just as sweet here as elsewhere. Lovely indeed, and now he indeed needs a new goal with that last one already won.

Thanks for the invitation to reread.

Author Reply: Awww, I'm so happy you enjoyed this... twice! You sweetie.

What better thing in life than to feel treasured!

Wonderful :-)

Author Reply: I completely agree, Pearl; there's nothing better. *hugs*

This was every bit of delightful. Pippin getting exactly the care he needs - which sometimes means talking with the healer rather than medicines - that's lovely. Aragorn revealing that most of his adult life has been spent trying to prove himself worthy of the woman of his dreams - well, you know I enjoy a good romance. And the last bit, when Aragorn says that Pippin already has his highest regard, that was just lovely, too!

It amuses me that when I log in to this site and type the 's', it's not just my own ID that drops down as an option for IE to fill in. :D

Author Reply: I know you enjoy a good romance! :)

I like to think that Aragorn would reveal things to the hobbits he might not tell other folks. As you know, sometimes a gentle talk can do as much good as one more spoonful of tonic.

Oh, that was so touching! I was especially moved by Pippin's greatest wish - and then Aragorn's response. Such a lovely interaction.

Author Reply: Thank you. This is the relationship I love imagining between Aragorn and the hobbits. For them to continue feeling comfortable calling him 'Strider', he must treat them with affection as well as respect.

Awwww! I read this before in Lindelea's story, but I think it's a great idea to post AND read it again!

And then there was Pippin...

LOL! When it comes to describe Pippin's behavior, there's just one word that seems fitting: Pippin ;-)

But he and Aragorn found out that they had something in common. I can very well imagine Elrond treating Aragorn like a child and his sons enjoying themselves immensly while doing the same!

Thank you for (re-)posting :)

Author Reply: Pippin is so very... Pippin. And how we love him! Thank you, Andrea. :)

AWWWWWWWWW!!!

MMMM, snuggly Pippin, loving King, not much better than this!

Especially since on my Walk to Rivendell, I'm walking with a drowsy Pippin. :D

Author Reply: There's hardly anything better than drowsy, snuggly hobbits, and gentle care from those who appreciate them. :)

Oh, that literally made *my* eyes fill with tears! That was so beautiful. I need to go back and read it again.

Author Reply: Awww, thank you. :)
