| I had wondered why Legolas was having this talk with Imrahil, as he wouldn't have sailed until many years after Imrahil's death; now I understand, and I love the moral drawn from the story of Amroth and Nimrodel. How very true. Author Reply: Hey Larner, Actually, I was wondering why Legolas was having this talk, too. :) One of the driving points for the story was the fact that I wanted some one-on-one conversation with Imrahil from an outside perspective, and Legolas felt like a good foil to me. And by the end of the first draft, I had some nice dialogue but it never actually went anywhere. So I was asking myself the same you were wondering. Thankfully, I think it has a point now, and I'm glad to see you found something in it to make it worthwhile. Thank you very much for the review! | |

| I'm so glad to see you're still writing! Legolas's emotions are so complex here - his instinct to follow the call of the gulls warring with his desire to stay with his friends. It seems sad that his work over the last five years is for nothing if the ship is not seaworthy - but perhaps he has learned a far more important lesson. And we know he will build a ship and sail eventually. **Cough** How about an update on 'Fear No Darkness'? I still want to know about Elrohir! I wasn't sure if that was going to come across or not. And I wasn't entirely sure that the point to the whole thing was clear, so it was good to hear it in your review, too. As for other WIPs...well, I promise I haven't given up on them. But I keep jumping from one to the other and I'm having trouble building momentum on any one of them. I'm leery of posting new chapters right now until I can get several ready and then post in reasonably quick succession. So I'm working on it! But it might be a while... | |
