that is a great ending. Legolas can take them. I have faith. "The have come," that is such a suspenceful, and kind of scary line.

Author Reply: Thanks! It remains to be seen just how well Legolas can do. I'm afraid Aragorn is going to be pretty useless.

So the attack comes at last. I was reading along thinking about how well Legolas was doing and then you snuck that in on us. Nice job, Nightwing.

Author Reply: I was actually forced to sneak it in by the howls of my impatient child, who was completely fed up with me working to finish off the chapter. I was rushed, and the ending was too abrupt. I didn't give it the time it needed, so I'm not entirely happy with it. Oh, if only I had hours and hours of time to devote to writing, instead of these little snatches of ten minutes here and there! Not the way to produce one's best writing. But I thank you for the compliment. Now, how do I deal with a blind elf cornered and forced to fight? Phew...

Oh--oh----just the chapter title made me nervous! Thank you for updating, Nightwing, but what a terrible cliffhanger! It's back to biting yu nails until the next update!

I really loved how you dealt with Aragorn's recovery, how he realised just how Legolas had adapted to his blindness and how Legolas could finally admit that he was blind.I had a lump in my throat when Legolas said that he was blind but he was still Legolas. And the headaches have more or less gone--that's a relief.

I really didn't want to get to the end of this chapter because I knew something was going to happen, and I was really shocked when Legolas realised that the cabin was surrounded.Oh,now I'm going to worry for them. Really worry!!

Thanks again for this story, Nightwing.I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a safe and happy 2005.

Update soon!

Author Reply: I was more than a little shocked myself that the cabin was so suddenly surrounded. I had every intention of introducing the arrival of the bad guys with a little more time and a lot more grace, but my seven year old daughter was standing behind me yelling "are you ever going to be done with that??!!" and I just went "aarrgghh!" Wrote the last couple of paragraphs in less than 5 seconds and posted it, as I was flat desperate to finish it before Christmas, when what scant free time I had would be completely obliterated.

But I am not pleased with the abruptness of the arrival of the baddies. I might return at some point and give those last moments the time they deserve.

Thanks very much for reviewing, and all the best in the new year to you.
