I was really enjoying this story, but it seems to have faded away. Is there any chance you'll finish it or should I stop checking back? It's been 2 1/2 yrs now....

Hello there Nightwing. I nominated you for the MEFA's in 08 and will nominate the completed story when it is finished. I live in hope that one day you will feel inspired to pick up this story again. This is the first fanfiction story I ever read, and it has never ceased to be special to me although since that time I have read many, many stories. It has not lost any of its magic, although I read primarily slash (and not Aragorn/Legolas) and only come onto this site to read you, to remember how thrilled and engrossed I was when I first happened upon 'To See A World', completely by chance. It was in fact, my introduction to fanfiction, and a beautiful one; when I received update notifications I was thrilled and stopped everything to immediately read the posted chapter.

You have given many people so much pleasure with this lovely work, and I would wager that out of ever 100 people who read it, only one actually reviews. I wish you all the best, whatever is happening in your life, and I would like you to know that that I have never forgotten 'To See A World'. It is one of those rare stories that I can read again and again and become absorbed in it each and every time.

God Bless and take care.

It's been ages since I've been in here, and somehow missed the posting of your last chapter. Something got me to thinking about your story, so I checked, and sure enough, there was a chapter I had not yet read!

I have just finished and sat back with a very contented sigh. But the contentment did not last long...it appears you have not added to this story for quite some time. I sincerely hope you have not given up on it! It is much, much too good for that!!

I realize that with the increasing passage of time since the LOTR movies came out, people are being drawn into other pursuits. But I hope that you realize there are still those of us who follow these very well written stories...perhaps not as frequently as we once did...but we do still follow them.

"To See a World" is such a pleasure to read, I would sincerely hate to see it fade into oblivion, especially unresolved! So I strongly and respectfully urge you to not give up on it!

Wow. I can't believe this story so far. It's totally and completely amazing. You pull everything off beautifully and it makes a realistic tale (you know, for something of fiction about elves and orcs, lol).

When I first saw how long it was I was just like, 'no way.' But I clicked on it anyway and I've sat here for the past few days reading this when I caught the time, and I'm so glad I did. It has been an excellent read and I'm sad I finally reached the end of the updates.

I hope that you can find time to update soon. I can't wait to see what will happen with...well, everything. It seems there is still much to happen and I can't wait to read it!

Keep up your superb work!

Well, if you're rusty you could have fooled me. I hope the muse is now revved and writing again because we miss him/her as do we miss you. So WONDERFUL to get an update to this story!

Wow, that blade really has Legolas spooked. I can't imagine anything short of sorcery to put such dread in him. It's not like the elf to suffer a lack of self-confidence. It seems too the wound is showing signs of being tainted. What that bodes I don't know, but you have me on pins and needles wondering about it.

Thank goodness he has Aragorn to aid him (even if he does beat up the Ranger in his sleep). I can't help but feel sorry for the two, the pain that they are suffering. Still, their friendship helps keep them grounded -- Legolas probably needing that more so than Aragorn. It's wonderful to have them together. That said, Aragorn is right, Legolas needs to come with him. They simply cannot be separated again. Besides, I think in the end the elf will save the day.

Brina was a bit emotional, of course, but her time with Legolas and Aragorn went better than one might have expected. I love her character and hope she continues to check into this story from time to time. I secretly hope that she and Aragorn, in the end, will be able to surgically remove the sliver in Legolas' neck to heal him.

I hope we'll see more of this story soon. Again, you have been missed and all I can think to say that might help keep the muse around is that you are a brilliant author and I, like many, adore this story! I say this with heartfelt sincerity!

I'm so glad to see an update and I didn't think it was 'off'.
I'm still addicted and hope you catch the muze. Let Brina help you, if anyone can corner a muze it's her! *grins*

Thank you for not abandonning this, it's still awesome!
Thanks for sharing hugs and kisses!

Nightwing! I was so glad to see this story continued. I did a little dance when the alert showed up in my inbox. No kidding! You should have seen it. It was scary, to say the least.

But enough about my lack of rhythmic coordination. Let's talk about this wonderful chapter. You've brought our heroes to the breaking point, it seems. Well, Legolas, at least, is nearing his limits, and that's saying something considering what you've already done to these guys. The dream sequence was frightening and dark, and it lingered long after he woke. He never really did shake its whispers. Throughout the chapter, he continued to feel helpless, and I don't know that Aragorn truly grasped just how helpless Legolas felt. Either that or he was deliberately staying obtuse so that Legolas didn't take his own fears so seriously.

The sequence with Brina was heartwarming, even as it turned to sadness and grief. In particular, your narrative writing was brilliant. This passage, in particular, caught my attention: "You're joking," Brina exclaimed. "His hands?" Her own faltered as she started the first stitch, I love that turn around on her own hands as they faltered. A lovely linkup of events, and some very clever writing to display it.

And then there's the final exchange between Aragorn and Legolas. Boy, did you hit it out of the ballpark with that one. Wow. You milked this scene for every ounce of torment and angst that you could, and you came up with a small fortune. Aragorn's growing alarm at Legolas's despair is sensed, even as he tries to underplay it, and as for the elf, he's reached new depths. His parting line to Aragorn was a brilliant, sobering note on which to end the scene, and I humbly bow before such amazing writing!

Oh ho, so now you're quoting Paul Simon too! Great minds do think alike -- and I think Paul would be pleased to be associated with a tale of quality like this.

I love the dream sequence at the opening of this chapter. The image of the burning sword is so vivid, especially when the sorcerer strokes it 'like a lover.' Ooh, that sent shivers down my spine. I liked Legolas' awakening too, when he clocks Aragorn. That made me grin.

The grandmother, Brina, has a great role too -- comic for the first part, although I appreciate her awe at Legolas' feat in springing Aragorn from the trap. But then you take an unexpected turn, delving into her real feelings for these men who have upheaved her village and ultimately resulted in the death of her grandson. It is that kind of real, personal emotion which lifts this story above so many others.

So Aragorn and Legolas will seek out this sorcerer together, and Legolas' dreams at least do not bode well for the outcome. Oh, I am looking forward to the rest of this story.

*singing Hallelujah* So wonderful to hear from you Nightwing. This chapter did not seem "off" at all, to me. I thought it was great. The nightmare Legolas had was very disturbing. Though he does not have the gift of sight, he feels that he may end up causing harm to Aragorn if he goes with him. I'm in the camp that thinks he would be more of an asset. He is the only one who would not be mesmerized by the sorcerer.
I'm loving Brina; she is such a strong willed woman. I am hoping she will come up with a cure for Legolas. Maybe if she and Aragorn put their heads together, they can come up with something.
I love the little bickering that goes on between Legolas and Aragorn over such little things. They are so like brothers. It always makes me smile.
I hope that life is going okay and that we will be rewarded with another chapter soon. Of course you know we will wait, no matter how long it takes.
As Always.
Peace
Beverly
