| This chapter was err, cool with Alun as visiter. I like how Aragorn contrasts Elves from Men and the detail of Alun noticing the Elvish glow. Alun's examination of Legolas' weapons was interesting. How heavy the drawback was, the lightness of the blades. It was described so I could quite well imagine holding them myself. Heh, and I love how the cat's name *is* Squeaky. | |

| Oh my stars! Squeaky really *is* the cat's name! I burst out laughing and applauding at that revelation, Nightwing. An absolutely perfect surprise! I'm sorry I've haven't stepped up my review writing to match your new updating speed. I don't want you to think that I'm not still reading though. This has been a great story from the very beginning. I look forward to each chapter. Clearly the plot has reached a new avenue. I'm very curious to find out what is going on down in the city. Although Our Heroes have vowed to stay out of the political turmoil down there, I can't help but think they'll be dragged into it somehow. My guess is that something will happen to the boy. Our Heroes will hear about it (probably through Alun) and will go to the rescue or possibly avenge. But then, you've done a fine job of surprising me in this story, so I will probably be proven wrong. I have some other predictions that will probably prove wrong. Perhaps the citizens are controlled (indirectly) by whoever controls the Elven Queen-killing orcs. And perhaps the citizens are being primed to attack the strange elves over the mountain. Okay, okay, you can stop snickering at my predictions now. It's not nice to snicker at your avid readers. ;-) Wonderful job as always, Nightwing. | Alun is back! I like him. He is a worthy addition to your somewhat limited cast of characters. He is honorable and respectable, and it seems that Our Heroes are sorely in need of a friend at the moment. Again, I love all the detail you put in -- what herbs are going into the pain medicine, the dust gathering on Legolas's bow (what a sad image that was!), the effects of a scythe that is too short. All of these little bits really bring the story alive in a way that very few stories are. Which is why I like reading this one. And Squeaky! Yes, that laugh was sorely needed right about now. Sorry this is so short. I'm at work. | |
