JAM AND PUNISHMENT  by Grey Wonderer 17 Review(s)
shireboundReviewed Chapter: 1 on 5/25/2009
You have good jam in Buckland but you need better jars

Bwahahaha!! And that is that, as they say. Pippin - 1; everyone else in the Shire who doesn't stand a chance - 0

*hoots and whistles with glee*

Author Reply: Yes, I do think Pippin won that round. He may be in trouble later once everyone realizes what Merry knows, hehehe. That will be, as Sam, who refused to be in this story, would say, 'a real eye-opener and no mistake.'

Thank you for the hooting. It's like a convention of barn owls in here and I love that! (and hooting and whistles with the extra glee-factor! I'm impressed!)

*applauds the best disclaimer yet*

Author Reply: Bows deeply and thanks you for the finest applause that a disclaimer has ever received. Thank you!

Young Pippin reminds me of Tom Sawyer here! Certainly he seems to have assorted Tooks and Brandybucks and Baggins hobbits all wrapped around his sticky little fingers! Very cute story.

Author Reply: Yes, he's getting away with the Tom Sawyer tricks here, but sooner or later folks are bound to catch on. (Merry already knows.)
Thank you for reading and reviewing my sticky little fiction!

Now THAT'S what I call a disclaimer! It's even better than the one on the toaster box that said the toaster manufacturer would not be responsible for any damage caused by trying to operate the toaster inside an oven...*

*I'm NOT lying.

Author Reply: "Not responsible for any damage caused by trying to operate the toaster inside an oven...?"
Gee, I don't think we covered that one. Next time, I shall try to work that in.

It's amazing what people think they might be sued for, isn't it?

On the other hand, it's amazing what people *do* get sued for. : )

I gotta get a new toaster...

I have a very big grin on my face. Jam and Punishment indeed!

I love the way Pippin lets out the different ways he's been lied to! LOLOLOL!

Hopefull, they can get the jar off without getting soap in the jam-- I agree with Pip! Soapy jam is dreadful.

Author Reply: Ah, I like it when you grin. It makes your eyes sparkle.

I decided that between Merry and Pervinca and a few of the adults in Pippin's life, he might have heard a few lies here and there. Because of his trusting nature, I'm guessing that when they came from people he loved, he totally believed them. A recipe for trouble if ever there was one!

No one likes soapy jam, except maybe Gollum and he has very strange taste.

Merry when younger was right--that child is EVIL! And he has everybody snowed! I love it!

Author Reply: Merry was way ahead of the game here, but then, it takes one to know one, doesn't it? : )

Glad you enjoyed it!

Ah, but your prologues are classics! Love it!

Author Reply: I thank you and my prologues thank you. Sometimes I really do just consider posting just a prologue and stopping there. They take almost as long to write at times.
