I approve of the time period you've selected for this November! How nice to get a drabble about these two, who are normally overshadowed by their parents and their children. Author Reply: I'd intended to cover from Dior and Nimloth down through Elrond and Elros, to Elladan, Elrohir and Arwen, but so far the muse seems particularly taken with Earendil and Elwing! :) Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Well done, Rhyselle! I could just see the scene, meldenya! Especially the tall, tall birch tree...I can picture it so clearly in my mind. But I have to wonder whether the Elves would let it be cut down...I wonder what tomorrow's NaQua will bring! Tye-melin, Kaylee! Author Reply: Well, Kaylee, I think that the tree must have agreed to be used so, since they could talk to the elves and vice versa. I like to think that Earendil might have a bit of that ability to sense if a tree is willing to sacrifice itself for a special purpose.

No, Earendil has ever been the Mariner from his first sight of the Sea, I suspect; and that he should end up sailing nightly for eternity seems so right! Author Reply: Well, I do think that he returns regularly to spend time with his wife. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised during the months when Venus isn't visible because of the transition from morning to evening star and back again through the course of the year, that Earendil doesn't end up in Alqualonde on a regular basis, in the shipyards, and sailing along the coast of Aman...

Nimloth the Fair and Dior the Beautiful--sounds as if the two of them were fated to marry! And it is so like her not to recognize her own beauty until she sees it reflected in his eyes! Author Reply: I don't recall many fics that have Nimloth as a key protagonist. Most that I've read that have her in it, even in a significant role, tend to focus mostly on Dior instead. It was fun writing something from her POV and something romantic. :)

Beautifully written as always, meldenya! I could just see it! Cirdan! I occasionally wondered who might have officiated at the wedding. Of course it was Cirdan! I feel silly now! :) Well done! Kaylee Author Reply: I supposed I could have had it be Gil-galad, but since Earendil was a mariner, it seemed more appropriate to have Cirdan do it. :)

poor Idril and Elwing both - the sea was stronger than both of them in Earendil's heart. Nicely done! Author Reply: Thanks, Kaylee! I think that the family members of all those addicted to the sea wish that it could be otherwise.

Beautifully written, meldenya! I can visualize Earendil perfectly in my head now, where I had no clear picture of him before. OK...he was blond, while his sons were dark-haired? I suppose they got it from Elwing's side of the family...*ponders* Kaylee! Author Reply: I have a good mental image of him now. Still haven't found any pictures that meet it yet, but I figure someone someday will post something at Deviant Art that fits! LOL! And yes, Elwing's hair was dark, like Dior's, which came down from Luthien's and Luthien got hers from Melian.

Well done, meldenya! A beautiful piece, and I can't wait to see your next addition! I especially liked the description of Dior, and the last line. Kaylee Author Reply: Thanks!
