Of Elves, Men and Peredhil  by Rhyselle 109 Review(s)
CeleritasReviewed Chapter: 21 on 12/16/2009
I really like the almost creepy, dark tone this takes (especially when taken in conjunction with the title). One is left wondering who possesses whom, and the idea of the Silmaril having a voice and talking to its owner resonates through the Ages...

Very, very powerful stuff.

This really would have been a sight to see! I especially liked the inclusion of Elwing to support her husband.

I always felt bad for Elwing, having to abandon her family and then stuck in Valinor while her husband sailed the sky each night. I could definitely see this sort of thing happening--up until the time that she learned of her sons' fate and through her presumed reunion with Elrond.

This is a nice look of Luthien that we don't get very often--an aging grandmother! She's still the same person, though, as shown by how gently she insists that she stay with her husband.

I always disliked Elured and Elurin's fate, too (who wouldn't?). Even sadder if you think they almost escaped. Well done.

I like the idea of these three being harbingers in Middle-earth for Earendil's eventual rising. At least it explains how everyone knew what that new star was and what exactly it meant.

A sweet way of integrating the little information we have on Dior's fate to your previous ficlet. I especially liked how Dior's choice focused on Nimloth herself rather than that old mortality/immortality debate.

Now that I finally have the time to review the rest of these...

I approve of your warped sense of humor here. The idea of Earendil, despite all of his prowess (or perhaps because of it?) being unwilling to ask for directions makes me smile.

This realization that he does have family living, and that they continued to care all during the years of separation, must have been so much a surprise, an almost unlooked for delight!

The entire series has been perfect! Excellent inspirations to us all!

What a wonderful series - I have so enjoyed looking for each new section and will miss it! what a perfect ending, though.
