A lovely glimpse of my favourite moment from the book. Author Reply: Thank you! I feard I won't be able to do it justice with only 100 words, so I'm glad if I succeeded, if only partially, maybe.

Poor Huan!Being so special must have had drawbacks at times! Author Reply: Heh, poor doggie indeed! ;)

Ooh, a Ghân-buri-Ghân ficlet! I am so intrigued by those people and their drums and their mysterious nature, so I am thrilled to see this. In so few words you've still shown how they think and view what's happening in the greater world beyond their wooded hills. Absolutely perfect! Author Reply: Yes, they are very intriguing, even more because they live so secretly that even Tolkien doesn't say much about them. They almost don't appear in books of lore, but they have their own world and history - almost like hobits =)

I would like a pair of these boots, if the guy every gets them to market, need a pair of boots that can go for miles and miles, without getting corns on the feet. Author Reply: Well, in that case I would recommend some other shoe-maker, a Dúnedain one, or even elven, who knows how such shoes are made properly. I fear this guy's boots will fall appart after the first rain... but you would look very tough wearing them in a city ;)

So stirring! I love that last stanza especially--no big surprise there! Author Reply: Thank you very much! No, not a big surprise indeed ;)

You evil girl... this was so sad! Are you trying to make us all cry? Actually, everything was "fine" until the last two stanzas. They are so sad, so strong, so heartbreaking, so... perfect. Beautifully done, my friend. :) Author Reply: I'm sorry! It wasn't me who killed Halbarad, it was Tolkien, really! But it *is* sad, one of the saddest moments in the book... Thank you very much for the review!

Ok..Now you just made me cry! How I hate the fact that Halbarad never got to see Aragorn become king! This is beautiful! Author Reply: Thank you very much, and I'm sorry for making you cry! But the truth is it is sad... Halbarad's death was a great sacrifice for the victory against Sauron...

Oh, that was beautiful... in that reach-for-the-tissue kind of way. *sighs* Author Reply: Thank you very much! I'm really glad you liked the poem about Halbarad, since you write him so great!

Your visual stories are always amazing and this is delightfully creepy. What a task you set for yourself, to crawl (no pun intended) into the mind of Ungoliant, but it was worth the effort to have produced this story. It was wrenching to see the death of the Trees from Ungoliant's point of view, and the spider visual at the end had me reaching for my flyswatter! Author Reply: Thank you very much! Yes, it was very creepy and wrenching to write... And that will have to be one HUGE flyswatter! =)
