| A hawk would indeed by apt and I love the reason for naming Faramir a swallow for he was hope to Eowyn as they awaited what could have been the end of their world but was not. | Dear Linda: Both of these brief tales were very enjoyable! I'm glad that Gandalf explained his comparison of a swallow to Faramir. Gandalf always did see beneath the surface of things, and he saw faithfulness and endurance in Faramir. Moreover, the wizard might have been having one of his flashes of foresight. As for the second tale, while it is difficult to imagine the "eagle" being so domesticated as to turn into a "dove," it is, as Imrahil observes, a wonderful thing that peace has returned to the land, so that Aragorn can enjoy his family and his kingdom in peace. I very much hope that you intend to add more chapters to this story, as I always look forward to your LotR fiction. Thank you for writing and posting these.
