Crumbs... The tension is climbing! Now both Aragorn and Frodo are in danger! I wouldn't want to be in Gandalf's position. On the other hand, as Maia, he has knowledge, skills and powers we can't understand... thank goodness!

Author Reply: It's fascinating to delve more deeply into that which our beloved characters are capable, if the situation arises to test them.

Yikes! You seem to have a talent for creepy, malevolent presences... not something I would have expected from you!

Poor Gandalf. What a horrid place to be in!

Author Reply: The greater the evil, the greater the force of friendship must be to rally to overcome it!

I love how the sweetness and light of the Valley grew as the hobbits journeyed deeper in, and how at last the singing, relief and sleepiness gently overcame them.

Author Reply: Thank you. I never tire of imagining things from a hobbit's POV.

I actually read this a couple of days ago but this is the first time I've felt strong enough to leave a review. A lovely resolution to the story, Shirebound. I'm afraid I can't think of anything else to say about it, except that I enjoyed every chapter and hope to see something else from you someday soon. Thanks for sharing.

Author Reply: I'm so happy you're beginning to feel better. *gentle hugs*

Thank you for your kind comments. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the story.

And what a wonderful ending to a wonderful story that was *happy sigh*

Thank you so much for writing this beautiful story, Janet. Love it from start to finish. And congrats on the ten wonderful years of fanfic writing *hugshugshugs*

Ten years, I can't believe it! What an amazing Adventure it's been.

I love this story. The idea of the Nazgul slipping into Aragorn's mind as spy was nasty. Luckily, Aragorn has good and powerful friends that could fix this mess without killing him.

Author Reply: I'm happy you enjoyed this story. It was a strange little idea that just demanded to be written!

“If the only residual effect of my misadventure is being hungry as a hobbit for a time,” Aragorn said, “I suppose I can endure it."

LOL!!! There are worse things indeed!

Great ending, shirebound. I liked this story very much.

And happy Anniversary! I'm glad about the Internet for it led me the way to you and your beautiful stories :-)

(The first review I ever wrote was to one of your stories.)

Author Reply: Thank you, Andrea. I feel as if I've known you forever! It's always such a joy to know that you're reading and enjoying the stories.

First -- congratulations. Ten years are too short a time... I'm looking forward to at least another ten.

Second -- this was an imaginative and well-written tale. Though I have been writing tales of Men for a long time, I have never ceased to be in love with Sam's values. You write them so well. I can see the Shire, even when they're not there.I particularly loved Sam and Frodo in this tale.

I have heard rumors that Arwen was able to 'be' with Aragorn as he traveled on the Quest. The last two chapters make it seem quite plausible that these two were connected more than we might have first thought.

Bravo. Well done. Looking forward to the next tale from your prolific mind.

Author Reply: Thank you! I appreciate your kind comments very much. Ten years, it's amazing! I'm grateful to have been able to come up with original story ideas for so long.

Bless the Professor for giving us this tidbit from ROTK: Arwen remained in Rivendell, and when Aragorn was abroad, from afar she watched over him in thought. A brief passage like that opens the door to so many possibilities!
