Allies  by Kara's Aunty 28 Review(s)

The war cost him much but he would not have gained so much either. Sweet glimpse into my favorite man. :)

Author Reply: Hello again, m;dear,

Faramir did lose a lot in the war, but it's nice to know that he gained as much - may more back than he lost when the war ended. If any man deserved to be happy, it was definitely dear Faramir!

Glad you enjoyed it, cheeky lass!

Imrahil's reasoning certainly makes sense. They show the reality of Frodo's imprisonment but past not present. Love Pippin's words at the end.

Namarie, God bless, Your bloom :)

Author Reply: Hello Tooky bloom,

I like to think Imrahil was a logical chap. I like to think it because someone had to be. Gandalf and the others had to stifle their dismay when they saw Frod and Sam's belongings the the hands of the Messenger - I think they were too occupied with trying not to reveal anything else to the Mouth of Sauron to offer Pippin the comfort of their thoughts (if they took any comfort in their thoughts at that testing time). Good old Imrahil the Fair, stepping up to the plate when the wee fellow needed it most!

Thanks for R & R-ing, cousin,

McMo.

And once again: wonderful drabbles, all of them!

But the one I liked most was about Celeborn who was jealous of a dwarf - not a "mere" dwarf though, but Gimli Gloins son who is a force to be reckoned with ;-)

Author Reply: Hello Andrea,

I'm delighted you enjoyed them - and most particularly that you liked Celeborn's. We so rarely get a glimpse of these mighty and elegant elves being 'human' - with that I mean his slight (ahem) jealousy at Galadriel favouring Gimli as she did.

Or should I say encouraging Gimli as she did ..?

*chuckles*

Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)

Ohhh, I *love* this conversation! How wonderful.

Author Reply: Hello shirebound,

excellent! So glad to hear it :) There's not very much on Imrahil in the books, so this drabble was purely guesswork, though I think it's probably safe to assume he was a strong man with a good head on his shoulders (I suppose he'd have to be to keep Belfalas safe from the continually marauding Corsairs).

He was (in this drabble) the voice of reason at the Black Gate for Pippin, who was probably imagining Frodo in all sorts of trouble after seeing those tokens the Mouth of Sauron was bandying about so breezily.

Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)

And reunite him with his son.

Insightful.

Author Reply: Hello eiluj,

whatever the outcome, it was a win-win scenario for Théoden that day - something that can't be said for many on the Pelennor!

Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)

I hadn't thought of that before - death would be welcome because then he would be with Theodred again - and his wife and sister. It is so stirring to see this in the film, the great courage of these men.

Namarie, God bless, Your bloom who enjoyed Treebeard knowing what to do with weeds too. :)

Author Reply: Hello Antane,

yes. Théoden was strong and courageous - he and all his men. And he didn't have much to lose that day whether he lived or died, as the drabble tries to explain.

Glad you enjoyed this (and Treebeard's outing, too) and thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)

It was time to be hasty!

And that willingness to work outside the box is what made Treebeard a leader.

Author Reply: Hello eiluj,
amen to that! And what a leader he was - I almost feel sorry for Saruman.

Almost, but not quite ...

Thanks for R & R-ing,

Thank God for them both! And for Frodo's own grace-filled resistance to the shard. Sweet story here.

Namarie, God bless, Your berry :)

Author Reply: Hello berry,

thanks indeed to them all for playing their parts.

And to you for R & R-ing,

M ;)

Poor Barliman. Perhaps things would have been different if he had sent the letter or perhaps not. No need to excuse yourself, my dear, for putting him here. I liked that you did. :)

Namarie, God bless, Your bloom :)

Author Reply: Hello bloomin' marvellous,

(get it? bloomin' marvellous? Ahem)

dear old Barliman! He would be honoured that you think his small efforts worthy of a drabble, as I am honoutred that you R & R-ed.

Thanks, m'dear,

** giggles quietly***

Good for you Galadriel, never hurts the keep the husband on his toes. Remind him that even after a few millenium of marriage, you can still turn a head or two....

Thanks for writing such a nice interlude.

Author Reply: Hello eliza61,

I so agree. Can't have Celeborn getting too complacent just because he's married to the beauteous Galadriel - otherwise any old dwarf could come and snatch her away ...

*cackles wildly*

Thanks for R & R-ing,

Kara's Aunty ;)
