Oh, to be in the care of hobbits when you are sick. Although, I could do without the pain...

Pippin blushed, “Frodo, I was only trying to say…”
“I think you have said enough, Pip,” Merry glared at him.

LOL!!! Poor Pippin! He is always trying so hard to please everyone. But it was funny ;-)

To be in the care of hobbits is the best that someone could wish for!

These two are truly having more than their share of pain, although they are getting a good deal of comforting from the rest. And I'd LOVE to have the Hobbits and Aragorn taking care of me should I be so injured and ill! Heh!

Reading Chapter one of The Honorary Hobbit made a great day even better. I love nothing better than to read hobbitcentric stories and this chapter abounds with examples of their irresistable charm. Even in a weakened state, your Frodo shows his inner metal, but you didn't neglect that vulnerability that inspires others to care for him.
I feel The impetous for this story hinges upon Frodo's comment that he felt like a caged animal only to be released when it was time for him to carry the ring to Mordor. His dread escalated during the time he isolated himself in the sick room. He needed to put some positive, diverting experience between himself and his fear. You made the point so clearly that first he had to eat to fuel his recovery after which he could reconnect with his friends and experience the beauty and delight of the Last Homely House.
You have such a humorous, upbeat touch while being mindful that beneath the amusing spats, Frodo's heart and will are strong. I so enjoyed the bartering scene and the little touch that though Frodo attempted to eat exactly half of his meal, he couldn't resist those fresh raspberries.
"Take them ... anywhere," certainly summed up Elrond's delimma with hobbits with too much time on their hands.
Sam's short appearance and the mention of Merry and Pippin, as well as curiosity to see more of Rivendell highten my anticipation to continue this story. However, I'm enjoying it so much that I'll be pacing myself knowing I'll reach the end all too soon.

Author Reply: It's been a long time since I've received such a lovely review. I am delighted that you are enjoying the tale. My other fics might also bring you some chuckles. They are mostly always Frodo-centric, this one was suppose to be mostly about Aragorn (for a dear friend) but I just can't help myself. I have a serious Flo' Nightengale complex and love to almost kill them off, then spend the rest of the time nursing them back to health. (muhahahahha)You will never see character death in my fics and I always complete them even if it takes forever. I have another update coming up ... it's all written just needs to be typed up and posted. Thanks again for such kind words...it made my day.

I can so understand Aragorn. It is appalling when you are not able to feed yourself. At least he seems to admit finally that he is sick and needs some help.

I can appreciate why Elrond is laughing at the same time he is deeply worried. At least they have the abcess drained. But it is so wearily worrying not to appreciate why those we love and care about don't grow better!

Elrond is not to be envied to have to deal with such patients!
So I found it very nice of Gandalf to make him laugh with his joking.

Should either patient awaken while Elrond was conducting the procedure there would be a war to rival the second age.

Now that makes me curious! Will it come to that "procedure"? Is it *that* embarrassing?

Glad to see another chapter up! Who could endure such a cry of pain and not want to respond? And Aragorn has known Frodo far less time than anyone else except the elves and still wants to imperil his own health to aid his friend - another sign of the great and loving king he will become. Love Frodo too. :) Please don't delay too long in continuing!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

I don't know who is worse Aragorn or Frodo. They are a stubborn pair. Let's just hope that Elrond can fix Frodo's shoulder. It is about time that they both heal.

Author Reply: I love how stubborn they both are. No worries about the shoulder tho'...Frodo at least is on the mend.

Oh my! Aragorn is as stubborn as Frodo! He could have injured himself very badly, again.

Let's hope that Frodo's shoulder will get better after Elrond's treatment. Of course I understand that Frodo doesn't want to get drugged, but it is better than the pain he would feel otherwise.

Author Reply: The drugs didn't seem to work all that well, did they? The hobbit is on the mend...Aragorn? Well, we'll see...
