A little R.& R. never hurts! Lynda Author Reply: It certainly doesn't! Thanks for reading. :)

I really admire the way you write the rangers, with such an ease! The text flows naturaly, and is very pleasant to read and imagine the situations you describe. So Halbarad and denlad are going to meet Aragorn, and not like the condition they find him in, it seems =) Author Reply: Thank you, Mirach! Yes, I do think it will come as a surprise to them both that Aragorn isn't lolling away his time with his feet warming on the heart at the Pony. I'm so glad you like my version of the Dunedain. I'm kind of glad Tolkien left most of that canvas blank because it's certainly fun to try to draw in the details. :)

I'm so glad you continued Bowen's story. He's is such a fully fleshed character and it is wonderful to view our ranger through his eyes. This is an absolutely delightful story which, thanks to having being one of your very priviledged betas, I can confirm just gets better and better! Definitely not one to miss. Author Reply: Ah, thank you, my dear... if it's a "don't miss", it's largely because of your help as always. :) I'm really glad you enjoyed reading it even as you had to do the techy-beta-y stuff! Now maybe you can sit back and just relax as you read it along with everyone else (or hit the back button to see the back of this story once and for all! LOL) Thanks for the review and the help. :)

And, of course, there is the question of what Bowen's wife will be willing to put up with! Glad Aragorn's getting some decent nursing at last. Author Reply: Thanks, Larner.... yes, Aragorn's finally met his match in stubborn kindness with Bowen, I think!

I feel for Bowen. He has no idea how stubborn Strider is.Can't wait for the next chapter.LOL Galathil Author Reply: Thanks, galathil! No, he doesn't really know Strider's stubbornness, but then again... Strider doesn't know anything about Bowen's! *g* Glad you liked this--next chapter is up Friday morning. :)

Oh, a wonderful start to this story, Cairistiona!! I really enjoyed the interplay between the two of them; it was very well done. Can't wait for the next chapter! Author Reply: Thanks, Radbooks! So glad you liked the start of this one... a battle of wills, those two. *g* I hope you enjoy the entire story--as usual, I'll post 2 chapters a week and the next one comes up on Friday, where we'll see more battles of will, but this time between Halbarad and Denlad. Hmm, I'm sensing a trend... Thanks for the review!

...guess what I just finished? *g* And this was the perfect reward!! It cannot be stated enough how happy I am that you've expanded the tale of Bowen...you continue to create OCs that make me grin the entire time I'm reading them :D. Just like that. Ooof, I can relate to Aragorn all to well in this chapter...clearly my summer illnesses are not far enough behind me, LOL. I can't wait for more of this story! Author Reply: Yay, you finished your thesis proposal!! *throws confetti* And thank you, I'm very glad this turned out to be a fitting reward for your hard work! Grinning is good and I'm glad Bowen brings that to your face--I know he kinda does that to me too, I must confess. *g* (<-- See???) Thanks again and hope you keep grinning throughout the rest of the story!

Dear Cairistiona: This was delightful to read! Poor Strider, so sick, and I can well understand his feelings about the poultice--sometimes the "cure" is worse than the illness! Strider is like a lot of men--strong and tough when it comes to battles, wounds and whatnot, but rather childish when it comes to an illness. Barliman is well-portrayed too, especialy his generous streak, and the descriptions are beautifully written. I love your OC, Bowen Rushlight. Nursing a Ranger, especially one so tough and stubborn, is not a commonplace achievement. I fervently hope there will be another chapter or story in this series. Thanks so much for writing and posting this. Sincerely, Darkover Author Reply: Thank you, Darkover! Glad you enjoyed the start to this story... and yes, there's plenty more chapters (and Rangers) to come, as well as another story in this trilogy (as soon as I get it written... it's in the "research" phase at the moment). I'm glad you're enjoying the interplay between Bowen and Aragorn--Bowen is definitely being the adult in this situation, without a doubt. And I'm glad you like my portrayal of Butterbur... he's a tricky one, because he can be kind but prejudiced against Rangers at the same time. But I tend to believe an uneasy friendship existed between him and the Rangers, and Strider specifically, otherwise the Prancing Pony wouldn't have been considered as a "resort" by the Rangers. So he's a challenge to write, but all the more fun because of the many layers to his character. Hope you enjoy the rest of the story--chapters will go up twice a week. :)

I loved it, loved it, loved it. You did a great job of giving us a very vivid picture of Bowen's kindness and earthiness. And Thank The Valar, Aragorn has found his match when it comes to stubbornness and someone who won't take nay for an answer. The mustard poultice incindent is very funny and made me laugh out loud. It also reminded me of Halbarad's horse medicine. LOL I'm sure he and Bowen will get on like a house on fire once they meet, which I'm betting they will. *g* Author Reply: Thank you! And thank you also for the beta'ing assistance. :) I hadn't thought about Halbarad and his horse balm but you're right... poor Aragorn is always getting slathered with something nasty in the name of healing, poor guy. No wonder he tried to be gone so often from these people! *g*
