Agape4GondorReviewed Chapter: 30 on 10/7/2012
This was a very sad chapter to read. The depths of Thoran's insanity were intense. That he would throw the Elfling to the ground, knowing he would be hurt, and perhaps even killed, is unbelievable. And unforgivable. I'm sure he thought the horse would go faster without the added burden, that he could fight better without an Elfling to consider... but nothing justifies this.

It had to be one of Thranduil's hardest decisions, to leave his youngest in the hand's of his brother. I kind of wish he'd stayed with Legolas and left Thoran to his guards. I'm sure he continued because he wasn't sure where his guards were. So much for taking off and leaving them behind. Glad Galadhion was with him.

My heart broke at Bregolas' death. He entered the Halls of Mandos as a true warrior and faithful guard. *sobs*

I could feel Saeron's relief at the sight of Elrond's sons. Glorfindel's presence helped, too. But to see Celeborn go off after Thranduil. That was important. If anything happened to the Elven king... I do not think power was only in Galadriel's hands. Her husband was an awesome character.

Great chapter. Can't wait for more!

Author Reply: Thoran is beyond any reasoning now and can await no understanding anymore. Of course Thranduil has struggled with his decision to stay with his youngest or go after the mad elf but he wanted to make sure that no one has to suffer again from Thoran´s madness, which was not true for poor Bregolas. Galadriel is powerful but Celeborn is also a power to reckon with. Of course he is gong after his cousin. Thranduil is a formidable warrior but with this mad elf you will never know and Celeborn is taking no chances. Thank you so much for the lovely review and your enouraging words, Agape. The next chapter is already written and with my beta. Again thank you. Lai

Well, at least Legolas is safe if injured. That's a relief. But really, Thranduil needs to stop dithering and just get rid of that mad elf. Thoran is long overdue for a little chat with Lord Námo. *grin*

Author Reply: yes, Legolas is safe and now the way is cleared for Thranduil and be assured he will make sure that Thoran will have a chat with Námo. LOL! Thank yo so much for reviewing, Fiondil. Lai

Author Reply: no worry about not reviewing. I´m always happy when you do! I´m so glad that my chapter is so thrilling to you and don´t worry: Thoran is getting what he deserves because now he had crossed a line Thranduil can not accept. How will you now that Legolas will be alright?....LOL! Thank you so much for reviewing. Lai

Wow! This was tense. First that Thoran escapes and then that he abducts Legolas. Glad the nurse wasn't too badly hurt - except for her poor heart at the loss of Legolas.

Thranduil should take that Thoran by the neck and throttle him. I hope he doesn't get too far from his escort else he become fodder for Thoran.

Yikes! Another good cliffee.

Author Reply: yes poor nurse.I fear that if Thoran does not run fast enough Thranduil will do more then throttle him....LOL! I´m glad you enjoyed the chapter that much. Thank you for letting me know. Lai

A tense chapter and still Thoran escapes, blast him. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Author Reply: it´s high time to react for Thranduil and this he will do, but first to get Legolas out of the way. Thank you so much for a appreciated review. Lai

I told you! I told you!!!!

Be that as it may, I was mighty glad to see a celebration of fidelity. Nicely written.

Author Reply: yes you told me and...it happened. LOL! I´m glad you liked the celebrations. Thank you so much for telling me. Lai

I know Thranduil seemed to love his dungeons. (see The Hobbit)....

I would have preferred if he sent Thoran there for a thousand yeni or so!

I don't trust that Elf.

Author Reply: as you already know you were so right to not trust this elf, but now it´s too late, but don´t underestimate the King...he´s really furious now....LOL! Thank you for reviewing, Agape. Lai

And it was going so well until the end. LOL! Well, we'll have to see what happens next. I'm suprised Legolas didn't alert his father through their bond and whatever happened to the nurse? Enquiring minds want to know.

Author Reply: and you will not have to wait long to receive an answer. I can only say: poor nurse. LOL. Thank you for reviewing, Fiondil. Lai

A very difficult and emotional trial for everyone. I doubt if everyone is pleased by the outcome (or lack of one). I fear for Thranduil. I don't think this is completely over. Thoran is too evil to be allowed loose, IMO.

Author Reply: Unfortunately Thranduil has not much other options and you are surely right that not all is over and your fear for Thranduil is warranted. LOL! Hope you will go the rest of this story with me. Thank you so much for your most appreciated reviews. Lai

Ah, that was so sweet at the end, Lai. I wonder whose idea it was to have Legolas bring Thranduil his crown? A stroke of genius, that. Thranduil is one lucky king. But he still has a lot of work ahead of him. They all do and it will not be easy. Looking forward to seeing how things go from here.

Author Reply: thank you so much, Fiondil. Yes the ending was sweet. Thranduil can call himself lucky for a few genious advisors, I think. But he should not underestimate Thoran. Many thanks for a much appreciated review. Lai
