Imrahil's Daughters  by Lialathuveril 103 Review(s)

A lovely chapter. I loved the way Eomer handles his people and is handled by them. The easy love and respect between them. And that scene with the horses was just gorgeous. How they showed up out of the mist and the understanding they have. Just great.

Author Reply: Thanks! Tolkien described the Rohirrim's horses as mostly grey and I have this picture of them blending in with the mists. I'm pleased to hear you liked the scene!

I just loved the part about the horses. An auspicious omen that they take to Lothiriel .What a lovely bride gift from Eomer!

Author Reply: Hello Linda,
it's a good start for her after all the earlier trouble, isn't it?

Have a nice Sunday!

I am a bad reviewer. I have read most, if not all, of your Lothloriel stories, and I love them. But this particular chapter inspired me to finally review. I loved the scene with the horses. They were such strong characters in such a short space. From the ones that were the lords and ladies to even the little colts peeking out to look at the people. That was such a well done scene. I loved it!

Author Reply: Hello picara,
thanks for reviewing, it's always nice to hear from a new reader. And I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed my stories! Though I'm not much of a rider myself, I love horses and always thought the Mearas must be very special indeed. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to have a scene with them in one of my stories.

So many lovely parts to this chapter! Their ease and synchronicity now that the air is cleared, the way Hild and the others have him so managed while giving him great respect and a fierce loyalty, the hopefulness of the people... And I don't think I've ever read such a wonderfully written interlude between a Lord of the Mark and the Mearas.

Absolutely delightful. :-)

Author Reply: Hello Lyana,
I really like horses - I think they're beautiful creatures - and the Mearas must be pretty special, so I really enjoyed writing about them. Glad to hear you liked it!

How wonderful! what a lovely kiss, too :-)

Riding an ant! LOL! I love it!

Author Reply: Hello ellie,
it seemed the right mount for Lothiriel ;-) I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed the chapter!

It appears that the stallion and the lead mare have things well in hand (or hoof), and have a good appreciation for the right thing to do at this point. Lovely!

Author Reply: Hello Larner,
the lead mare and stallion are eminently sensible, aren't they? More than a certain King of Rohan sometimes...

Oh! I just loved this chapter. The seductiveness of their relationship, the beauty of the people and their eagerness to welcome Lothiriel, the Mearas and all that entailed. I was just mesmerized. Good writing. Bravo!

Author Reply: Hello Agape,
thank you! I've long wanted to write a scene with the Mearas of Rohan and this seemed the perfect opportunity. Also I enjoy coming up with Rohirric customs.

Finally, they get together. It took them long enough. But they are really a match. They have both crazy ideas. I just hope they take counsel with each other to weed out the most harebrained schemes.

Author Reply: Actually I've got somebody in mind who could give them expert advice on weeding out the worst schemes. A hint: she likes the colour pink ;-D What do you think?

*smile* A battle of wills. They are a stubborn pair. Let's hope they come to an agreement before Lothiriel succumbs to pneumonia ;-). They make the perfect couple. Poor Imrahil. Will they ever tell him the whole story?

Author Reply: No need to worry about pneumonia, although poor Amrothos has caught a horrible cold. The world is so unfair ;-) As for Imrahil, I don't think he'll ever get the complete, unvarnished truth, I'm afraid.

Uh, oh! That doesn't sound well. What will Eomer come up with? Lothiriel was brave. OTOH what else could she do? Waiting much longer would make it all worse. I hope for everyone involved that Eomer calms down enough for explanations soon.

Author Reply: By now you will have seen what Eomer's come up with. His temper tends to run away with him at times, but then that's half the fun of writing about him, at least for me.
