I am sooooo glad that Saeron and Galadhion have mended their friendship.

And that they went to their father and received his blessing.

This family is sooo cool. I can't wait til they are reunited.

Nicely written chapter!

Author Reply: hurting can do awful things and Saeron has learned that in time. The talk between the brothers was most overdue and the blessing of their father renewed their bond. I´m so glad you find "my" family cool, really! Thank you so much for reviewing. It means a lot to me. Lai

Well, I'm glad they all made up and now Legolas is on his way home! He'll have quite a tale to tell his ada and older brothers, won't he?

Author Reply: a tale to tell he will surely have but not all problems for the little boy will be solved I fear. Thank you for reviewing, Fiondil. Lai

Oh! Lai! you are weaving a tale of sorrow and doing it so well. In their own pain, the family are hurting and tearing each other apart. There is no love being offered each other at this time when they need it most. Thranduil is even doubting his bond with Legolas. The relatives have simply rubbed salt in their wounds and, all in all, matters couldn't get much worse. Could they? Please let little Legolas "permit" Elrond and Glorfindel to bring him back to Mirkwood. Then, again, the way things are going for the house of Thranduil, getting back home may be fraught? I am enjoying your story Lai, and look forward to the next chapter.

Author Reply: yes, it´s a tale of sorrow indeed! It´s so hard to give comfort when the grief goes this deep. They have all soon come to their senses before the family is falling completely apart. Elrond and Glorfind had better hurry. I´m so glad that you are enjoying my story so much. Next chapter is done and will be also an emotional rollercoaster, I fear. Lai.

When my husband passed and I had to go to the funeral home and greet those who kindly came to offer condolences, I had a hard time going through the entrance door, too. You captured my and Thranduil's feelings well. I'm so glad he had his sons by his side.

My mother-in-law blamed the children and I for my husband's death. Not true, but it hurt so terribly, in the midst of our anguish. People, especially those who should be offering comfort, can deal the deadliest of blows.

Thranduil had to suffer with his wife's father and with his own sons' stupidity. Of course, they can be excused, if only a little, in that they were both suffering, too. They definitely needed their father's strength, but he had lost it in a glade of death. I've got my fingers crossed that the king recovers. He does have excellent friends and healers.

Very sad chapter. Very sad and well written.

Author Reply: I´m sorry if the description of the furneral brought back raw memories to you, yet I´m glad for your approval that I captured the feelings well. How can anyone blame another for the death of a loved one? Horrible thought! I have also suffered the loss of a family member and the comfort of the remaining is the most important thing. I´m sorry for you! Yes, the King´s sons act stupidly but they are also suffering and will see this in the next chapter. They have to support their father or all will fall apart and there will be no home Legolas can come to. I´m so glad you find the chapter well written. Thank you so much for letting me know. Lai

Oh my goodness gracious! I don't know how I missed this chapter. I was reading the next one and thinking how horrible that Legolas was still lost in the wild.

Phew! I am feeling so much better. Bless Elrond for he was more concerned with healing the child, while Glorfindel had the luxury, after making sure the area was safe, of considering who the elfling was.

Nicely done. I wanted to sob with the little one. In fact, I still might. *goes off to weep*

Author Reply: trust our Glorfindel to see beyond the tears of an elfling and the wish to help. If you wanted to sob with the elfling then my words have reached you and I have done somthing right.LOL! I´m so glad that you liked the chapter and let me know. I really appreciate it, Agape. Lai

Hi Laikwalasse this story has taken my breath away, especially this chapter. You can feel the emotions and pain in this chapter. It jumps of the page and having the two brothers fighting is not doing any one any good.I really can't wait when Elrond and Glorfindel take our elfing back home. Please don't make things to hard for them,me thinks that Legolas is not going, to give them an easy time.LOL Galathil

Author Reply: I´m so glad you are taken by my story and that the emotions came around believable. It´s not so easy with a foreign language, all the more I´m happy you like my writing. Legolas is indeed making it hard but mostly for his father, I fear. He can of course not understand what is happening around him and why his father is so changed. But more in the next chapters. LOL! Thank you so much for reviewing, Galathil. I really appreciate it. Lai

Okay, that was seriously intense with all those angry emotions, especially Saeron. And Thranduil has suffered a collapse it seems. Not good. Not good, at all. ELrond and Glorfindel better hurry Legolas home or there might not be a home for the little guy to hurry to. Can't wait to see what happens next, Lai.

Author Reply: Thranduil´s lack of reacting is certainly not good at all, as we will see in the next chapters and the bringing home of our favourite elfling brings some relief of mind, yet even more trouble for our poor King, I fear. Deepending on my beta the next chapter will be up soon. Thank you so much for a most appreciated review, Fiondil. Lai

Aww.... Elrond and Glorfindel to the rescue. Love Legolas here with his "I permit you to take a look". LOL! Well taught, indeed. Now, being of a suspicious mind, I have the feeling that getting Legolas back home is not going to be as easy as Elrond and Glorfindel suspect. *evil grin*

Author Reply: he´s the son of his father, isn´t he? LOL! You are really of an evil mind! Isn´t finding the poor boy and bringing him home to a devastated father enough? tsk tsk tsk....we will see....Thank you so much for reviewing, Fiondil, you know how much I appreciate it. Lai

How powerfully you have drawn the emotions of Thranduil and his sons. Galadhion irrationally blames himself for not being there to save his mother, Saeron irrationally blames his brother for not being there to save his mother. Thranduil is despairing as he no longer feels his wife in his mind, is angry with her for leaving her escort and in his agony of mind is not thinking rationally. Then, as if matters could not get worse, little Legolas falls through the emotional cracks - so true that in every tragedy matters escalate until one believes how could things possibly get worse? I am sure the little Legolas will have hidden himself very securely. This is very well written, and I am looking forward to the next chapter. Thank you!

Author Reply: Thank YOU, Semmley. I´m so glad you found the description of the emotions powerful and believable. I tried to solely focus on this matter. I tried to show how this tragedy has influenced every member of the royal family and I´m glad I succeeded. Hopefully you are right that little Legolas is safe - if not this would be the last straw for the King. Thank you so much for your encouraging review. Lai

How very sad that the Thrandulion family is falling apart at this tragedy. You can tell that the elves are not thinking as noone has asked where the bodies of the Lothlorien elves are. Thranduil will have to make the effort to control himself so he can also bring his older sons under control. Lets hope that Legolas has made an escape and not been captured by the orcs.

Author Reply: yes, Thranduil has to come around quickly or all will end in a much greater tragedy but he is not called strong and stubborn for nothing. If Lagolas was able to escape or not will soon be answered. Thank you so much for reviewing. I really appreciate it and I´m glad you are still reading. Lai
