And all's well that ends well. Tinár was smart to do what he did. The cry of the child was stronger than the will to die and mother-love took over. Very good. And yes, Elrond is still a warrior even though he fights a different enemy than orcs now. A good story, Lai. I like that we see Elrond in his element, so to speak, but still not all-powerful, all-knowing or even all-wise to the mysteries of life and death.

Author Reply: Tinár had a good teacher after all. I do imagine Elrond more a healer than a warrior. He was and is a mighty Elf-lord but even he has to accept the laws of nature. I´m so glad you liked my story, Fiondil. I wanted to give a glimpse of Elrond´s day-to-day life away from fighting against orcs and nonetheless having to fight on a battlefield as unpredictable as outside. Thank you so much for your most appreciated reviews. Lai

Ah. I too have misgivings. Good for Alariel!

Author Reply: Alariel is not to envy in this situation and yet a good and most needed friend, even if Eiriniel will see this later. Thank you for reviewing, Lindelea. Lai

Oh, how sad!

I do hope the child will be well. Poor Eiriniel.

Author Reply: I hope with you but with Eriniel´s fragile mental state? Thank you so much for reviewing, Lindelea. Lai

Love teh explanation of "warrior of care". That is what he truly is. Hooray for the elleth being okay.

Author Reply: I have heard this phrase in a lovely song from Alanis Morissette and had instantly pictured Elrond. The story around was quickly built. I´m glad you liked the ending. Thank you for a much appreciated review, Ellie. Lai

Hi! I found this story a day or two ago and this morning was able to go back and read a couple of your earlier pieces, and I just wanted to let you know how incredibly impressed I am....your earliest stories are so well-done despite English not being your first language, and the amount you've improved since then is astounding. Reading this piece, I would never have guessed that you haven't been writing in English your entire life!

I love seeing your portrayal of Elrond....both wise and tender, with such a genuine concern for everyone in the household, family or not. It isn't often that we get to see him in a physician's role dealing with things besides wounds and other battle injuries. You also handle the emotional aspect of Eiriniel's struggle skillfully and believably, and it makes me ache to see Elrond and the others tying so hard to help her when really she doesn't want to help herself!

I'm anxiously waiting to see what happens next. Thank you for sharing!

Author Reply: What shall I say to such a lovely review than thank you? My english has improved, yes, but my beta reader is doing much to transform my stories into something readable. Anyway I´m so glad you like this story and others from me. As my bio already says Elrond is my favourite elf and I´m always trying to characterisize him as real and believable as posiible. To hold the balance between a mighty warrior, a loving father and a respected Elf-lord. I´m glad that Eiriniel´s fate touches you. The next chapter is already done and just being shaped into something postable by my beta. So a bit patience. Thank you so much for such encouraging words. Lai

Wow! A very tense chapter. I'm glad the baby survived, but what about the mother? Poor Elrond. It's hard on a healer when he loses a patient, especially when he tries so hard to keep said patient alive. But some battles are lost both on the field and off. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Author Reply: all seems alright with the baby and SOA,BTW. But what about the mother? These battles are the hardest to lose for a warrior and a healer, I deem. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing and hoping for the next chapter, Fiondil. Lai

Well, it seems as if the baby was able to get through to her where Elrond and others could not, but we'll have to wait and see. I doubt it will be that simple for her or anyone else.

Author Reply: She has made an agreement but not in the way Elrond hoped for,I fear. Your doubts are actually justified. Thank you so much for a most appreciated review, Fiondil. Lai

Eireniel's grief for her husband is compounded by the need and love of her baby who is prepared for death with her. Will her accident cause a premature birth? Will Elrond be able to win the battle to heal Eireniel's spirit and save her baby? Great start to an interesting story Lai, and looking forward to your next up-date.

Author Reply: Elrond will have his hands full to save mother and child, that I can promise! I´m so glad you like the start to my new story. Thank you so much for reviewing, Semmley. Lai

Elrond is right: friends cannot replace one's mate. I fear the elleth will need close watching and I hope she doesn't do anything to endanger her child's life either. In her emotional state, who knows of what she is capable? Looking forward to the next chapter, Lai.

Author Reply: your fear is quite warranted Elornd will soon find out. Griefing mothers are capable of many irresponsable things. Thanky ou so much for a most appreciated review. Lai
