To Rescue a Damsel  by Lindelea 22 Review(s)
EverlightReviewed Chapter: 1 on 4/5/2014
Very nice job. I could almost *see* Farry and the little ones playing on the rug while their father worked. What a sweet picture.

Farry's thought that he would 'give up all his dreams...' is so sad. It's so hard to live under that ever present fear of losing someone you love. (Believe me, I know.)

Thank you for yet another good story.

Author Reply: You're most welcome, and thanks for the encouraging word.

This is a relatively short story, in draft form, so it shouldn't take too long in the posting (nice change... the long stories take forever!).

I'm sorry about your firsthand knowledge. It is hard. *hug* It was something of a comfort, and a wish that could not be granted, to bring somewhat miraculous healing to Pippin, in this cycle of stories, when I was sitting by helpless in RL, as someone I loved was slipping away.

The only reason I can write a story set on this point of the timeline is because I can look forward to that healing. Otherwise, it would just be too painful.

His father had made a jest about the difficulties of a united divided Kingdom

So true! What a nice detail. I look forward to more.

Author Reply: Thank you!

I wonder how Queen Victoria managed her far-flung Empire... quite the communications lag.

At the local fort where we volunteer as historical interpreters, one of the astonishing (to me) facts is that they had to think two years ahead when putting in an order for goods to be shipped from Britain to the New World. It could take a year for the order to reach the home country, and another year for the goods to arrive. Whew.
