Oh my goodness. I remember reading your stories years and years ago, and I googled your name to see if you were still online. Sure enough! :) Your Faramir & Aragorn stories were always my favorite. I was an avid follower of them through college. I was delighted to find that you're still producing stories today. This one is right in line with my favorites. I see it's still 'tbc'. I hope it'll be updated soon. I'll be following. Poor Iavas deserves a return home too.

Good to see some of the pain recede from both our valiant heroes. I pity anyone who ever steals any of Eowyn's horses if she can get her hands on the thief...

Author Reply: I pity them too. Many thanks for your much appreciated review.

Aragorn persevered and thought only of love, gratitude and reassurance.

How lovely. If only all of us could be filled with such thoughts, and gentle words, and no others. Thank you for this healing chapter, my friend.

Author Reply: Thank you, I'm pleased you enjoyed this.

A harrowing dramatic scene. Pain and trauma are not easily healed. Nice to see the bond between Aragorn and Faramir confirmed again...

Author Reply: Thank you. I'm pleased you enjoyed the bond between our heroes.

Pain, unfortunately, is as common as joy within this world. Aragorn gives Faramir good counsel.

Author Reply: Aragorn is very wise. Sadly as we live in Arda marred, pain is common to us all.

p.s. I, too, am concerned for the mare, though as a descendant of the Mearas I expect she may be more intelligent than the Men who have taken her. And I want to see Legolas capture the brigands, and see them get their just deserts!

(All in good time. Glad to see you posting this.)

Author Reply: I;m hopeful for the mare too as she is very bright. You are most welcome.

"Only the Valar could answer that question," said Aragorn. "Since Melkor wove discord in the Music that created Arda, Men and Elves have suffered as have all living creatures. Why did the innocent perish with the guilty when the great wave engulfed Númenor? Why was my lady's mother put to such torment? I trust that when we pass beyond the circles of Arda that the One will make all things plain to us. Until then, all we can do is comfort one another and hold fast to love and to loyalty and fighting for what is right."

This is a lovely, hopeful sentiment. I love the tender care the King shows for his friend.

Please be sure to add author's notes at the end, when you're done posting, so that I can look up the other stories you refer to?

Author Reply: Thank you. I love writing caring Aragorn. Which other stories are you interested in? Web of Treason is one Aragorn refers to where Faramir cares for him, as he does in Shadow and Thought.

What beautiful and loving words. This is a special friendship indeed.

Author Reply: Thank you so much. I love to write about this wonderful friendship.

With all these angry heroes on their trail, I doubt those miscreants will get away with it!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I would not like to be in the miscreants' shoes!

"You need to take rest yourself, my lord," Beregond insisted.

"You would order me, Captain?" There was a dangerous glint in Aragorn's tired eyes.

"You too are a soldier, sire, and a healer as well. We take rest when we may, the better to defeat the enemy."

Beregond is truly a brave and good man, to be this stubborn on behalf of his king.

All we can do is to try to follow the path of goodness ourselves and fight against evil.

All of us need to remember that simple -- yet difficult -- wisdom.

Author Reply: Thank you, that is so true.
