Elf Academy 4 - The Unfinished Tales  by Fiondil 18 Review(s)

Since someone asked, my favorite is chapter 11,"What Child is This" in Christmas at Edhellon. Fiondil did such a great job explaining Christian faith. We had a brief discussion via the review.

Well, that was a surprise to all, and no mistake! to quote our dear Sam. I suspect that the Elves attending the Council are for the most part finding their expectations completely upside-down. I don't blame Alex for being angry with Namo, but Namo is certainly big enough to take it with a good bit of delight! What an exhibition of what mortals--and perhaps Elves as well--are capable of learning to do with their bare hands!

Hahaha!!! I have always adored Elves...but Alex Grant is definitely one of a kind. Ingwe is right, he is a lot like Glorfindel.

And oh, I so loved this chapter. I loved the way Alex showed them, and told them off, too. Fighting Maiar, and three at a time too, is something very few Elves must have ever done (except for Glorfindel), much less defeating/"killing" one. I'd love to be the fly on the wall in the next session of their Council.

But as for Alex, I hope he will be OK. I guess Namo will take care of him, make sure he gets no harm from what happened?

And I do hope a Maedhros gets his wish and travels to Middle Earth soon.

I loved this chapter. It was hilarious. I still have some trouble seeing the almost invincible (by human standards) Maia being defeated by Alex. But on the other hand, if they don't know anything about unarmed combat, it can be very effective.
Good for Alex to tell the elves straight what he thinks of them and their attitude. Poor elves, so many news in such a short time. Nothing happens for millennia and then, suddenly, the kings go to Wiseman, Helyanya comes back with her experience, triplets, Nell and Gareth and now a mortal in their midst that is not in awe of them. That is probably more to digest than they had in ages.

Can't wait how this plays out.

Ah the only tittle that would be fitting for this chapter. Seriously, after a most promising cliffie last week, this has been one of Fiondil's best chapters ever.

Well, the Council sure has something to talk about. Alex knows his ways to put some Elves in their place for sure.

I am a little worried about what this will do with Alex when he finds out is wasn't just a dream.

For some question asked on Fiondill lore, please correct me if I'm wrong:

Soledad - if I recall correctly, it's mentioned in The Journey home, Maglor's return story, that Meadhros has been reborn and was utterly excited about having his hand back, reborn way *snorts*

Denethor is one of the characters from The Journey home too. I'm personally pleased to see he and Maglor are still together.

Vanime - None, as far as I know. Aicatirno's name means Fell Watcher and appears in the Wars of the Valar
Juging by his name and the lack of Eru in it, I would say he was not based on any of the archangels directly.
As for the other archangels, Rafael is Olórin, Gabriel is Melian.

I'll see you all in the Cliff house garden.

Also, if Manveru is Michael, and Eruanu is Uriel, who would Aicatirno be as an archangel?

I haven't been leaving reviews of late, and for that I apologize. That having been said, I am thrilled to bits with the new chapter! I absolutely loved that Maedhros wanted to go to Wiseman right away, to join Alex, his "Sword-brother", I wonder if Maglor would go with him too? That would be most awesome, imho.

I did have a question though, is the Denethor at the end of the story an elf or is he somehow in Aman as formerly one of the Stewards of Gondor?

Many thanks dear ones for continuing Fiondil's work. It's such a deep joy and pleasure to read during a hectic day at work...shhh.. don't tell management! ;)

Hugs and Love,
Vanime

Playing catch up here - real life is .... well, more real than anyone truly wants, yeah?

Enjoyed each chapter since last remarking, but this one had me in stitches from the title on downward! I do truly LOVE Alex Grant. He is so much fun even when he doesn't want to be. And I dearly enjoyed his reaming out Namo. Good on, Alex!

The plot continues to thicken and perhaps now, after all the shouting is finished, these lazy bum elves will get their heads together! All these millennia and they STILL haven't colonized the rest of their world? Talk about LAZY! !! LOL

So glad to see you've been working hard to continue this series, Beta Tomodachi and I thank you all for your hard work, perseverance and love for not only Fiondil and his work but his fandom. Domo Arigatou!

Ha, I was a chapter early for the chapter title. ;-) You tell 'em Alex. And Alex has a new best friend, LOL. You think Maedhros would want to room with Alex and Derek?
