That's a newly patient Pippin we see! What a grown hobbit. :) Author Reply: As Gandalf indicated, all four of them had grown a good deal indeed. Yes, he's matured a good deal as a result of the entire quest.

Rarely do i read Silmarillion fic but this was quite evocative and powerful. Great imagery. Author Reply: Oh, but thank you so! I am honored!

Ah, Pippin, you and your incessant questions! At least you found Gandalf in a good and talkative mood for this one! Author Reply: Oh, he did indeed. I suppose the Wizard was glad to find someone who might appreciate his concerns.

Alas, poor Paladin. He likely needed this advice after dealing with ruffians for so many months. Author Reply: At least he was able to say he was sorry and to mean it. Bless all Hobbits everywhere!

LOL! I just love that scene in ROTK. I wish it had been in the film version. *sigh* Author Reply: PJ did manage to short us some excellent scenes from the books!

Yes, love is the theme that holds all things together. And it was for love that Elrond was able to give up his daughter and allow her to make her choice. Author Reply: I hope so that Aragorn was able to fulfill all of his atar's wishes for him. Thanks so much, and I hope so to see you next week.

A fitting end. Author Reply: Ah, but if only it HAD been the end for Sauron. True, he could no longer take on the shape of a body capable of beguiling others, but he continued in nastiness and his determination to overwhelm all others to his will. Thanks so, Lindelea.

Ah, yes, be ready, Aragorn! Poignant, that Gandalf included Gollum in his list of those he would seek. Author Reply: For all I believe he knew that Smeagol would not survive the destruction of the Ring, still I always felt he still would wish to rescue him, or at least his body, for a decent burial. But even the poor creature knew he would "die into the dust" when the time came.

Yes. How sad. I'm sure that this changed him, forever. She was his light and his joy, and the world must have been a darker, grimmer place from this moment forward. Alas, poor Denethor. (I think that is why I made an OC his namesake, and made the man the direct opposite of the Steward... full of mischief, and joy. But of course, everyone called him "Denny" because he was so different from the Man his parents honored by naming him so.) Author Reply: Some deal fairly well with the loss of a beloved spouse while others do not. And I am glad your Denny was as he was, perhaps what his name-father was intended to have been.

Alas for Denethor - and their sons, bereft now from their mother's love. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Or at least this is how Denethor saw them, at the least. Thank you so, Antane.
