• Kaylee's Special Yule Holiday in Rivendell by KathyG

  (Co-written by KathyG and Dreamflower.) This story is an off-shoot of "An Unexpected Adventure", posted here; in that story, four modern-day American children have found themselves in Middle-earth. The three older children have found themselves pulled into the Fellowship's quest, but the youngest, Kaylee, has been left behind in Rivendell, to the care of Elves and Bilbo. It’s Yule, and Kaylee misses her siblings. How do Bilbo and the Elves set out to cheer her up? [4-12-26: It grieves me to announce that Dreamflower died last month, on March 15. This was the last story we ever wrote together. She was a very special co-author as well as a great writer of Tolkien fanfiction, and I miss her.]

  This is not a story but a suggestion (warning?) to double-check your story summaries using the editing function. Look carefully at any stories in your list of published stories where the bottom-line information (Rating/Reviews/Status/etc.) is offset to the side. When I scrutinised my affected summaries in the edit box, I found text or coding had been added to the summary that was "invisible" on the home page display but showed up in the edit box. I worry that it might be some sort of malevolent code or invisible link that could be harmful to someone who accidentally clicked on it. When I deleted the "extra" text, the story summaries went back to "normal". ***Thanks for listening.***

• Let Sleeping Dogs Lie by Lindelea

  While in Minas Tirith after the end of the War of the Ring, surely the hobbits were showered with presents from a grateful populace, or at least the people tried to shower them with presents. This is the story of one awkward but lovable gift, and a unique solution to the problem. Final chapter added: Epilogue. Also added to the "Prologue and Explanation": a remembrance of Panda, who has joined Zoe on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
