Elendiari22 · 28 December 2003 · Chapter 12: The Sweet Forgetfulness Of Sleep

I just finished reading this story on your page at ff.net,and I really like it. It's a very cool tale!

LKK · 23 December 2003 · Chapter 11: Elrohir

One of the things I love about your writing, Jay, is how your chapters turn so quickly and so convincing from fun-loving adventure to threatening danger. I was reminded again of this talent of yours during this chapter. I'm enjoying getting reaquainted with the earlier chapters of this story. :-) LKK

FirstMate · 21 December 2003 · Chapter 10: The Enchanted River

I haven't been reviewing this story since I read it ages ago and haven't been reading it this go around since I'm desperately trying to get my own next chapter out. However, I am compelled to at least say how much I loved it the first time I read it. Sigh, those dreaded former lurker tendancies of mine kept me from reviewing before...sorry! Well anyway, this is an absolutely lovely story that creates a wonderful picture of the younger twins and Legolas during their more carefree days. It's a great story...thanks! (Hey, any chance of getting a new chapter of "The Search" soon? It would make a really nice Christmas gift!) :)

Sivan · 21 December 2003 · Chapter 9: Elladan

It's a wonderful chapter, thank u, I'm enjoyed. I still love what I read, but you need to continue. Sivan

Orophins Dottir · 21 December 2003 · Chapter 7: The Tapestry

"Lanatus watched as she left in search of the prince. He shook his head sadly. Such incidents were by no means uncommon in the household. He longed for the quieter times with Oropher." Quieter times with Oropher? I don't know why I find the idea amusing. Thranduil could not have been a picnic growing up! Am enjoying this story. I find Lanatus highly amusing and do hope he is a regular of yours?

Elendiari22 · 14 December 2003 · Chapter 8: Messages From Home

Oh no!! Now you must write the next chapter, and let us know what happened to Elladan! Now I'm worried!

Author's reply

You don't need to be too worried. As you can see, he's going to be fine - and there's no cliffhanger this time! As a matter of fact, it's Elrohir you should be worried for next chapter ... Jay

Sivan · 14 December 2003 · Chapter 8: Messages From Home

The black spider? More please, intresting. I still love what I read so far, keep them coming. Sivan

Author's reply

I'm glad you are enjoying the story. I will try to keep the updates coming!

Sivan · 11 December 2003 · Chapter 7: The Tapestry

fan81981 · 9 December 2003 · Chapter 6: Lessons Learnt?

Er, where is the rest of it? I know there are more chapters. I want to read the rest of it - this is such a wonderful story. (However, I am not as fond of ff.net) What really drew me to this was how you maintain the humour without resorting to cliches, which I know from personal experiece is very difficult. I would say "Keep up the good work" but I know you will without my having to say so. (Makes me sound too pompous anyway) ;) I will say UPDATE SOON (the last chapter took too long) :(

Author's reply

Too long? I try to post a new chapter every night! I'm transferring chapters gradually - it's easier to read, easier for me to revamp each chapter as I go, and I get more reviews! There should be a new chapter tonight, so long as I get chance to edit it. Jay

Yuna_Dax · 8 December 2003 · Chapter 6: Lessons Learnt?

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWww how very cute! Legolas is about to get it rather badly me thinks :) This is so cute - keep going!

Author's reply

I don't think the twins will find out about the spider for a while - as long as he keeps that spider out of their way! But the tall tale he tells his friends is about to backfire. Jay

sofia · 8 December 2003 · Chapter 6: Lessons Learnt?

i really liked this one. i think it was a bit funny how Elrond is going along with it.

Author's reply

I like to write both Elrond and Thranduil as loving fathers, who can be strict when necessary, but who know when to turn a blind eye to minor mayhem. Jay

LKK · 7 December 2003 · Chapter 5: Escape

Hello! I'm having a grand ol' time rereading this story from beginning to end. (Well, sort of to "the end", since it's still ongoing over at fanfiction.net, but you know what I mean. I hope!) I loved the irony of Legolas scaring the twins with his fake spider only to be scared by a real one himself. Good for Legolas for realizing that the danger of an actual spider was more important than any punishment he might receive for having been out playing the trick. Not every child would have made that decision, I warrant. A comment or two regarding the earlier chapters -- Legolas' solution to the indistiguishable twins was ingenious: call them both Ellahir. (Congratulations to a very ingenious author as well!) Much amusement over the fact that Elrond sometimes can't tell which son is which, but Arwen always can. And major hilarity over Elrond's "confusion" as to which son was born first! Looking forward to more chapters migrating from fanfiction.net so that I can revisit the joy of newly forming friendships. (And I'm very curious as to what "the truth" that Legolas is so ashamed of is in the last posted ff.net chapter. My guess: he feels ashamed at being mentally paralyzed by the child's sudden appearance on the archery field. Even though that fact is nothing to be ashamed of, it's the sort of thing a youngster who sets high standards for himself would berate himself on.) LKK

Author's reply

Legolas has been brought up well - he does recognise his duty, which is why he told his father about the spider. Which is also why Thranduil did not punish him for sneaking out at night - honesty pays!

frodo16424 · 6 December 2003 · Chapter 4: Spider Attack!

Yikes! Sounds as though a certain Prince of Mirkwood just might be in a bit of trouble! Loved the chapter.

Author's reply

Yes - it could be just desserts. Or perhaps he's going to be the dessert? Next chapter should be up tonight - find out then! Jay

sofia · 6 December 2003 · Chapter 3: A Midnight Excursion

i really like how the story is coming along. sounds like legolas is coming up with something. I cant wait to find out what it is exactly!

Author's reply

Well, he comes up with a plan to fool the twins, but gets rather more than he bargained for! Jay

Elena Tiriel · 6 December 2003 · Chapter 2: Ellahir or Elrodan?

Hi Jay, Thought I recognized this story! I've been following it on ffn, and want to tell you (finally!) how much I'm enjoying it. I really enjoy your characterizations, especially the elders' being worried but resigned, knowing that their children won't stay out of mischief for long. The elflings' scheming and antics are a delight. Thank you! - Barbara

Author's reply

Thanks for reviewing! I'm gradually posting all the chapters here, and will have all my stories here eventually. It just takes a while! I'm glad you like the adventures they have - there's plenty more to come. Jay

Elendiari22 · 5 December 2003 · Chapter 2: Ellahir or Elrodan?

Yikes, that last line sounds like something to look forward to! "There's no such thing as giant spiders." Lol. THis is great!

Author's reply

Yes - the twins (and Legolas) are about to find out more than they want to about the spiders. Jay

sofia · 5 December 2003 · Chapter 2: Ellahir or Elrodan?

Author's reply

The story is already finished, and I plan to post a new chapter each day (sometimes two, depending on demand). Glad you like it! Jay
