I love the way you are unfolding this healing so slowly. And I think that the comfort of massage and Merry sharing will help with that a lot. Frodo needs to know that whatever he tells his friend will not shock them too much and turn them away from him as "soiled goods".

Thanks so much, I was a little worried that I'd gone too far for this site or Frodohealers with the torture. I needed to show just how horrible it really had been for our dear boy. Im hoping to continue soon, but have a few other things I need to take care of in RL just now, thanks so much for your review tree

The interaction between Frodo and his friends is so touching. Poor Frodo - he honestly believes he is sparing his friends grief.

Author's reply

Im hoping we can make him see just how much he is loved by these people. Frodo holds too much inside and Id like to try and get him to share his worries and concerns with his family and friends a bit. So glad you are enjoying it tree

niniel · 6 January 2004 · Chapter 17: Chapter 17

Whoa! You're doing great things here to a poor hobbit-fancier's heart. Letting me poor Frodo die... But still wonderfully written. Love the story so far. Now I'm curious on what's coming next.

Author's reply

Hey, I love him too, so I promise I wont go toooo far...it might get messy tho' tree

niniel · 5 January 2004 · Chapter 4: Chapter 4

Thanks for sending me the link! I haven't read much of your story so far, but I enjoyed it very much! Good work!

Author's reply

Not a problem, hope you continue to enjoy it tree

Grey Wonderer · 27 December 2003 · Chapter 31: Chapter 31

Wonderful chapter! Frodo getting to hear how much he is respected and getting thanked for all he has done. A great idea and one that I have yet to read anywhere else.

Author's reply

So glad you enjoyed it. I am trying to get another chapter up this week, we'll have to wait and see. thanks again for the great review. tree

shirebound · 26 December 2003 · Chapter 31: Chapter 31

Oh tree, this story has evolved into such a masterpiece! Healing takes place on so many levels, and you're giving Frodo such an amazing experience. This is an incredible chapter. It does my sensitive soul good to know that Frodo is honored and acclaimed for what he accomplished. He so needs to realize that, as your Sam states, "The quest would never have even begun without you to carry the Ring." Wonderful.

Author's reply

Janet- You do me such honor. I truly want to make Frodo see that what he has done, was for the best and meant to be. I am so pleased you enjoyed it, and hope I can get another chapter up soon. Christmas and RL are hectic, but fun. I hope you had a grand holiday, and thanks again for your glowing review. tree

HobbitLass · 23 December 2003 · Chapter 30: Chapter 30

Wow.....Not much else to say. This was a very well researched and very well writen story. It kept me apt and attentive thru all 30 chapters so far, and I almost cried when I learned the was no chapter 31. Me mum thinks I'm crazy...crying and yelling in frustration at me computer! ;-) I sincerely hope you update soon...Don't know how much longer I can hold out!! :-) Well, anyway I just wanted to let you know, I have this fic bookmarked I like it so much and will be waiting anxiously for the arrival of the next chapter! See you in the reviews then! Toodles.

Author's reply

You are so sweet!! Unfortunately, I have company for the Holidays and it will be a couple of days before I can update. But keep that bookmark....when I do update I probably will have more than one chapter to add. Thanks again for such a great review. tree

Grey Wonderer · 19 December 2003 · Chapter 30: Chapter 30

In a great many fan fictions the relationship between Frodo and Merry is left in the background. Frodo is always getting help from Sam and Merry is always looking out for his Pippin. I am glad to read something that puts Frodo with Merry. I look forward to more of this one.

Author's reply

I really wanted this to feel like a family or group trying to help Frodo. I keep trying to include alot of characters and what they are thinking. It does make it complicated, like juggling too many plates, but I think it adds interest to the story. So glad youre enjoying it, I hope to have it updated in a few days, but the holidays and company are slowing things down quite a bit. thanks again for such wonderful reviews. tree

Anso · 15 December 2003 · Chapter 30: Chapter 30

This is a wonderful story! When I started reading, I hoped that this would be more than just another sick Frodo story, and it is so much more! I love the way Aragorn made Merry help Frodo. But I feel sorry for Merry too. He´s always looking out for the others, and it is nice to se that Strider takes care of him too. Keep up the good work! I look forward to those "lessons".

Elwen · 14 December 2003 · Chapter 30: Chapter 30

A new beginning indeed. This is where the hard work really begins . . . poor loves.

Author's reply

Elwen- so cool to hear from you. You got that right! But it will be interesting to see what happens, huh? thanks for reviewing tree

Grey Wonderer · 10 December 2003 · Chapter 29: Chapter 29

I like the slurred speech. Very fitting in light of all of the drugs. I do feel sorry for Merry. He is trying so hard to help everyone and it is wearing him out. Looking forward to more.

Author's reply

I was afraid it would be to hard to understand. But Aragorn DID give him a large dose of sedative. Glad youre enjoying the fic, thanks for your great reviews. tree

Author's reply

Slurred speech is VERY difficult to type. Funny, I dont remember it being that difficult whenever Ive had it LOL, glad you liked it tree

Erica · 10 December 2003 · Chapter 29: Chapter 29

Well, Frodo has quite an explanation coming. I wonder what Sam will do when he hears about it.

Author's reply

Yes he does, but Sam probably wont be hearing much about it. Glad you are still reading, and (apparently) enjoying. thanks for your review tree

Shireling · 9 December 2003 · Chapter 28: Chapter 28

I'm sorry I didn't stop along the way to leave reviews...I was so hooked I couldn't stop reading. You are a true Frodo torturer!!!! I hope we are getting to the healing and comfort bit or I may need some of Frodo's sedative. Update soon, pleeeeese. Helen

Author's reply

LOL!!! You are so funny. I love the boy so much, and yet here I am torturing him, what kinda of sadistic person is that? Healing and comfort are coming up, no worries. Glad youre enjoying the fic, and thanks so much for the review. I love it when I get a chance to chuckle. tree

Erica · 9 December 2003 · Chapter 28: Chapter 28

You ARE going to update soon, right? It was so nice to see Frodo and Merry playing again. I hope you add in more of that later.

Author's reply

Never fear, the next chapter is being proofed and should be up soon. Can I take it then, that you are enjoying the story? some of your previous comments made me wonder. If so...goody. Im glad you continued reading. thanks again for your reviews. tree

Erica · 8 December 2003 · Chapter 21: Chapter 21

Oh, no! What are you doing to poor Frodo? I wonder what Aragorn will wake up and find, and when he will wake up.

Grey Wonderer · 8 December 2003 · Chapter 28: Chapter 28

This is wonderful and I wish there were more right now. LOL I hope you plan to update soon. Poor Merry! All he tries to do is help and he winds up feeling guilty. I don't know how much more Frodo can take either. This is an amazing story!

Author's reply

I am very glad you are enjoying the story. This is my first story and Im amazed at all the positive feedback I am getting.

Erica · 8 December 2003 · Chapter 19: Chapter 19

Maybe you should also have mentioned how Pippin shouldn't talk about great battles in front of Frodo, too. That would be an important part as well.

Author's reply

First, you have to remember youre talking about Pippin. He speaks first then thinks (maybe) afterwards.

Erica · 8 December 2003 · Chapter 17: Chapter 17

When did Aragorn die? I can see how he would understand that Frodo wanted to be free of his pain, but how can he know from his own experiences?

Author's reply

This is an alternate universe story. I would like to think that Aragorn has had many many dangerous adventures and has either had the experience of near death, or known someone who has had this experience. I am merely augmenting to JRR Tolkien's wonderful stories, not re writing them. I believe each author should have artistic license in order to creatively express the 'what if' type of scenario.

Grey Wonderer · 8 December 2003 · Chapter 8: Chapter 8

Sam is beautifully written. He is as brave as he is in the books. You are doing him justice.

Author's reply

Ahh shucks. I try to picture the characters like a moving picture and what they would say, how they would look etc. Im so glad I was successful with Sam. Thanks for the great reviews.

Grey Wonderer · 8 December 2003 · Chapter 1: Chapter One

I am instantly hooked on this one! I love the images. Very dark and yet very real. I am going now to continue reading.
