Probably not the best story to read just before bed, but oh well. The reactions of the Fellowship to the ghosts, more than the ghosts themselves, was very scary. Have tingles going up my spine. And I like the suspicion surrounding every one of Boromir's moves, no matter how innocent the motives. An excellent story; thank you for creeping me out! ;)

I wasn't expecting it to end so soon! But that was really, really great! Good work, and five stars *****!

OK, I could have put this all in one review, but I knew not if I'd have the time to read it through in one day . So let me congratulate you to this very interesting and well written piece of fanfiction.
I especially liked the way Boromir was described and how brave he was (and this comes from an Aragorn-lover!).
The solution of the story was believable and well delivered, so I hope to read more from you soon.

Wow, this is creepy! Haven't read such an intriguing plotline for some time. Have to read on, so I'll get back to the review board later.

"I cannot tell by taste." Huah! *laugh, grin, whatever...* they should have taken Gimli with them. He seems able to detect the sort of blood by taste very well.

What a nice start! Sam's worry for Frodo is very griping. I look forward to find out what troubles Frodo - more than the Ring maybe?

Really enjoyed this story! Spooky, thrilling, and gave a little backstory to those in the Paths of the Dead. I totally felt this fit into their journey, potentially. It was a fun ghost story! Well done!

I think I already mentioned it in one of my unfortunately irregular reviews, but this story was outright creepy. The sudden appearance of a stray group of ghosts outside the Paths of the Dead was by far more sinister than the ghosts in the original story (and the whole Paths of Deaths sequence is eerie as it is). But (of course) I am glad that Aragorn managed to come up with a solution that the ghosts would accept. And that the chief-ghost chose to not let Frodo fall to his death.
A great story (as are all of your stories I have read so far). Thanks for writing and sharing,

LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!I cannot wait for their next adventure!! I finished All Creatures. Hope you get to read it!!!!
You had me on the edge of my seat through most of that chapter. But Frodo was so strong and fierce. I love that you showed that. I liked the tiny touch of foreshadowing with Sam considering how awful it would be to go on without hope too. If he feels like that about the wraiths, how much more must it cut him when Frodo reaches that point? A great tale told well, as always, Budge. Thank you.

I loved it. I was worried for Pippin and Frodo for a few moments, but happily you got the fellowship safely out of the situation with minimal damage. I really enjoy your characterizations, can't wait for your next story.

Thank you, Pearl. I appreciate your encouragement. This was a complicated, difficult tale to visualize and verbalize, and your appreciation and enthusiasm for the tale helped keep me going.

Wow. A truly amazing story, Budgie. You've given a whole new twist to the Oathbreakers, and who was waiting at Erech for Aragorn to come.
“Thank you,” the wraith said to Aragorn. “If it is within your power, lord, do not delay in your coming. We will wait, as we must. This time, we will honor the return of the king.”
Amazing. You never fail to astonish me with your imagination.

Don't you love how LotRs gives us so many openings for our own imaginations to play? A simple phrase, a word, a little detail mentioned once and never again. What odd twist of mind makes us wonder what happened to Gandalf's cart, or the belts given Merry and Pippin in Lothlorien? I sit back and marvel - and enjoy.

"Wise and noble was his mien, and he wore royalty like a mantle across his broad shoulders." Tolkien himself would write it thus.
This is just so powerful! Stunning, and such an original notion. This is awesome.

Another cliffhanger. Oh dear. I like how you connected the ghosts with the Paths of the Dead. Very interesting. And now the nazguls have taken Frodo and Pip! And what happened to Merry when he landed? Please update soon... :)

Very exciting. I really liked how you connected the ghosts to those from the Paths of the Dead. Can't wait for more, I hope Frodo and Pippin will be okay.
Oh boy! Frodo gets captured by ghosts again! Well, not again, the Nazgul didn't really get him completely, but close enough. Poor Hobbit! And good for Pippin!

Oh, I should have KNOWN there would be another cliffhanger here! Why don't I ever learn?
Though you realize if these fics weren't so good, I wouldn't be so aggravated by getting to the end of each chapter.

A ghost story! I wasn't expecting ghosts. I expected something more along the lines of barrow wrights. I guess barrow wrights and ghosts are kissing cousins though. (ew! what an image I just gave myself. yuck!)
Since they want Aragorn, or the heir of Isildur, I wonder if they're akin to the spirits residing in the Paths of the Dead. Maybe??
I'm enjoying this spooky tale of yours. I should have dropped you a note earlier. Don't really know why I didn't, but I should have. Sorry. :(
