LOL...No wonder Frodo stayed a bachelor! Run, Frodo! Hullo--I finally made it here!:-) Seems to me you have a great start to a very interesting tale! I wonder if someone puts young Pansy in her place... Pippinfan

*smiles* Thank you for stopping by and leaving some comments - keep reading Pansy (the brat of Brandy Hall if ever there was one) gets what's coming to her in like the next chapter... I hope you'll keep reading this story and let me know what you think!

shirebound · 12 December 2004 · Chapter 16: Of Wizards and Fireworks

What a lovely story, Amy. I like Gandalf's first impression of Frodo, and what pleasure he brought to everyone with his fireworks and gentle manner.

Author's reply

*blushes* Thank you, Janet! I really enjoyed writing this chapter as I have had this scene in mind for what seems like ages, particularly Gandalf's first meeting with Primula. I am so glad it turned out as well as it did and thank you for reading/commenting on my story!

shirebound · 6 December 2004 · Chapter 15: A Turn For the Worst

I was *so* relieved when Drogo started to get better! It's heart-warming to see how much Frodo loves his parents, and how much they love him.

Author's reply

*smiles* Thank you for reading and commenting, Janet! Yeah, I had to let Drogo get somewhat better in this chapter and yes Frodo loves his parents and they him... Stay tuned for Chapter 16 which will feature a certain wizard...

shirebound · 28 November 2004 · Chapter 14: Confinement

Awww! I love Frodo's letter, and the fact that the grownups weren't too hard on him. :)

Author's reply

*blushes* Thanks, Janet! I hope the next chapter won't be as long coming and as difficult to write!

Lindelea · 16 March 2004 · Chapter 6: Prognosis

Aargh! Don't tell me Drogo's gonna die! (no matter that he *does* die in the original, I *like* Frodo's parents...) Bilbo's got class.

Author's reply

Thanks for your review - I hope you keep on reading whatever Drogo's future turns out to be in this story! Author Reply: Okay, I made a change according to your suggestion "deal with Gollum" now reads "bargain with Gollum" - Thanks for the suggestion!

Lindelea · 16 March 2004 · Chapter 5: A Nephew's Sturbborness

Bilbo is one sharp character! I'm glad he's so observant. Waiting to see what's wrong with Drogo...

Author's reply

Thanks - I am glad I seem to be writing Bilbo pretty well at the moment - and as for what is wrong with Drogo, keep on reading!

Lindelea · 11 February 2004 · Chapter 4: Stargazing Lesson

Lovely. Nice to see Bilbo acquainting Frodo with the stars and the stories of the Elves.

Lindelea · 11 February 2004 · Chapter 3: Bilbo's Arrival

Ah, yes, Frodo and a young hobbit's questions... reminds me a bit of Pippin and Gandalf.

Lindelea · 11 February 2004 · Chapter 2: Last Second Rescues and Secrets

Primula to the rescue! Hoorah! Good to hear that Pansy has a sensible mother. O no! What's the matter with Drogo? (I'm sure we'll find out soon)

Author's reply

:-D Keep reading - you will learn what's wrong with Drogo all in good time!

Lindelea · 10 February 2004 · Chapter 1: Of Fishes and Trouble

Well! I can certainly understand why Pansy was Frodo's least favourite cousin!

Author's reply

Yeah Pansy is a bit of a bossy brat isn't she? I wouldn't like her either if she were my cousin!

shirebound · 23 January 2004 · Chapter 13: Consequences

Oh, no! I'm such a softie, I hate to think of Frodo being punished. It's so interesting to read a fic where we see so much of Primula and Drogo.

Author's reply

Hi Shirebound - You know what I am a softie too so it was hard deciding just how much trouble Frodo is in here! And you know it has been rather interesting in writing this with Frodo's parents both alive! Anyway I hopr you won't be disppointed as the story continues!

JULES6 · 23 January 2004 · Chapter 6: Prognosis

Oh I am so worried about how Frodo's going to react when he hears about his father dying. Hopefully it will help that they are moving to Bag End and Sam will be there faithfully as ever - but still - lots of sadness to come our young hobbit's way I fear. JULES

JULES6 · 23 January 2004 · Chapter 5: A Nephew's Sturbborness

Good to see that everyone is looking out for Drogo - even if he is unaware of the attention or says he doesn't need it. I am sure he would be dancing around with worry if the same was to happen to Frodo. Like Frodo's description of his father looking like a sheet on his bed - very much in tone with a child's perspective of something they saw. JULES

JULES6 · 23 January 2004 · Chapter 4: Stargazing Lesson

I think I was learning along with Frodo in that chapter - my Elvish and Sindarian just don't cut it. Thanks for the explanations. JULES

Author's reply

Believe me my Elvish/Silmarillion knowledge is very limited but I was happy to share with you my limited knowledge!

JULES6 · 23 January 2004 · Chapter 3: Bilbo's Arrival

You just cannot get enough of Bilbo and Frodo together - love their times together no matter where they be. Frodo inquisitive as ever and just as cute as we like him. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your story. JULES

Author's reply

Thank you!

JULES6 · 23 January 2004 · Chapter 2: Last Second Rescues and Secrets

Go Primula - great to see her stern words towards those who would hurt her son intentionally. I always liked her character for some reason - shame she wasn't around longer in Frodo's life - maybe she could have given the same speech to a few Orcs if they touched her son or Sauron himself. LOL Very mysterious about this injury and illness to Drogo too - have to wait and see what you have cooked up for us. JULES

Author's reply

LOL! Yes, Primula is a force to be reckoned with if you miss with her son! And I dare say the Dark Lord and his orcs would have cowered if they'd had a run-in with Primula Baggins! Please keep reading!

JULES6 · 23 January 2004 · Chapter 1: Of Fishes and Trouble

Nice little beginning here to introduce some of Frodo's experiences at Brandy Hall - I always like stories surrounding that part of his life. Some funny comments about Pansy Brandybuck - would like her to come up against Merry - but I guess he would be alot younger. Onto read the next chapter. JULES

Author's reply

Thanks for your comments! I would love to have Merry not to mention Pippin in this story but neither of them have been born yet! This story takes place 1380 S.R. and Merry was born in 1382 of the Shire-Reckoning so that rules out Pip too as he was born 8 years after Merry I believe! Still it would have been fun to have Merry and Pippin have a run in with Pansy! *bg*

Arwen Baggins · 27 October 2003 · Chapter 12: The ABC's of Trouble

Oh Frodo's in trouble now. But what about his father? You need to include future chapters on Drogo!!!

Author's reply

Future chapters will include Drogo but first I wanted to focus a little on Frodo and Sam, building up their friendship before I get into Drogo's illness any further...
